  2. Make your way to Ardougne and from there head east to the fishing village of Witchaven. You will find Col. O'Niall in the far northeast of the village on a fishing pier.

    Map

  3. Ask him what the mission is and he will tell you that villagers are disappearing and then reappearing the next morning in a dazed state. Ask him who the important people in the village are and he will tell you to speak to Mayor Hobb, Brother Maledict, and Holgart the Fisherman.

  4. Start off by speaking to Mayor Hobb in the building to the west. When you finish the conversation and begin to leave you will be contacted by Savant through your commorb. She will ask you to scan Mayor Hobb. Do so and she will tell you that two lifeforms currently reside in his body.

    Map

  5. Next, go talk to Brother Maledict in the church, who will tell you about his diminishing congregation and the renovation of the shrine.

    Map

  6. Now go talk to Holgart the Fisherman to the northwest. He will tell you that his boat has been confiscated by the Mayor and given to Jeb Wormwood.

    Map

  7. Head back to Col. O'Niall and tell him what you found. He will tell you to investigate the shrine.

  8. Go down the entrance to the tunnels to the west of the village and push the wall on the east side of the room.

    Map

    Map

  9. You can use the shortcut near the entrance and then head north if you have enough agility, or you can take the long way through the tunnel.

    Map

  10. At the end of the tunnel are some Imposing Doors. As you approach them, Savant will contact you and tell you to scan them. She will tell you that the markings on the door are ancient Saradomin runes, and that you will need to go see Jorral in his tower to the north west of Ardougne. Before you leave, pick up the dead sea slug on the floor.

    Map

  11. Speak to Jorral in the tower northwest of Ardougne from the Making History quest. With the help of Savant, you will learn that a powerful monster, Mother Mallum, was trapped by the Temple Knights long ago.

    Map

  12. Now return to Col. O'Niall. He will tell you to talk to Brother Maledict again. As you walk towards the church you will see a short cutscene.

  13. Talk to Brother Maledict (who is now acting strangely) and he will tell you that you need to find the three missing pages of the Saradomin text which will give the answer of how to renew the enchantment to the gates of Mother Mallum's prison.

  14. The first page is in the desk of the mayor's house.

    Map

  15. The second page you can obtain from the fishing store owner Ezekial Lovecraft to the east of town.

    Map

  16. Talk to Col. O'Niall again and he will give you fragments of the third page.

  17. Head south to Port Kazard and buy a piece of Swamp paste from the General store. Try to glue the fragments together using the swamp paste. Savant will stop you and advise you to use the dead sea slug instead. Go talk to Jeb and have him take you to the fishing platform.

    Map

  18. Once there, go speak to Bailey to the southwest of the platform. He will use your dead sea slug to produce a suitable glue for the pages.

    Map

  19. Use the glue on the one of the fragments, then arrange them so they make a page.

    Map

  20. Read the pages and then right click them and shape each of the 5 rune essences you have into each of five runes, Earth, Fire, Air, Mind, and Water. You will need a chisel in your pack to do this. If you fail, just keep trying.

  21. Go to each of the 5 Runecrafting altars and use the shaped runes on them. The Mind temple is north of Falador, the Air temple is south of Falador, the Fire temple is in Al Kharid, the Water temple is in Lumbridge Swamp, and the Earth temple is northeast of Varrock. Again, if you fail, just keep trying.

  22. Once you have the 5 shaped and charged runes, return to the imposing doors in the tunnel to the west of Witchhaven.

  23. Use each of the charged runes on the door and you will see a lengthy cutscene during which Mayor Hobb tells you how you have been duped into releasing the enchantment on the gate. You will now have to kill a Level 62 Slug Prince. (Only melee attacks will work.)

    Map

  24. When you are successful Mother Mallum will appear, but Savant will teleport you to safety.

    Map

  25. You will appear in Falador park. Speak to Sir Tiffy and tell him what happened. He will reward you and promote you to Proselyte.

    Congratulations! Quest Complete!
