Requirements

29 cooking (42 cooking is recommended to make Gnome Cusine items), having completed The Grand Tree quest is highly recommended, allowing access to the Gnome Gliders transportation system.

To start: Talk to Gianne jnr in the Grand Tree.

Before you can start delivering Aluft Aloft orders, you will need to learn how to prepare them. Some training is thus required, which you will get from Aluft Gianne snr for the dishes and from Blurberry for the cocktails.

Part 1: Training

Note: You may have already trained in gnome cooking before the release of the Gnome Restaurant Mini-Game. In such a case, you can proceed to the Delivery part.

Speak to Aluft Gianne snr for training in Gnome cooking and to Blurberry for cocktail training. Both will ask you to make certain drinks/dishes and will give you the necessary raw materials. Once you have finished a dish or drink, they will then taste your creation. If it is correctly made, you will then be given another task. After you have successfully completed both training sessions, you will then be able to start the minigame.

(For recipes, see the Gnome Cooking and Bartending special report.)

Aluft Gianne snr will ask you to make:

  1. Toad Crunchies (10 Cooking)
  2. Choc Chip Crunchies ( 16 Cooking)
  3. Toad Batta (26 Cooking)
  4. Cheese and Tomato Batta (29 Cooking)

Blurberry will ask you to make:

  1. Fruit Blast (6 Cooking)
  2. Pineapple Punch (8 Cooking)
  3. Wizard Blizzard (18 Cooking)
  4. Short Green Guy (20 Cooking)

Part 2: Delivery

Talk to Gianne jnr after completing the training part.

He will offer you to help delivering food and drinks to Gnomes. (For recipes, see the Gnome Cooking and Bartending special report.) You can choose between an easy or a hard delivery.

If you choose an easy delivery, you will have 5 minutes to get the required order to the recipient. The recipient will always be located in the Grand Tree vicinity.

If you choose a hard delivery, you will have 10 minutes to fulfill the order, but the recipient will be farther away. Advanced transportation techniques will often be required to get the task done in time, including gliders, teleport runes, spirit trees, etc.

Aluft then proceeds describing the mission:

and gives a hint on where the recipient can be found.

Once an order has been described, you can choose to reject it (e.g. if you don't have access to the recipient's location or you don't have the cooking level required), but you will then have to wait until you can get another delivery of the same level of difficulty (5 minutes for a hard delivery, 2 minutes for an easy one).

As soon as Gianne jnr starts describing the order, you will receive an 'Aluft Aloft box in your inventory. You can click on it to get a reminder of the required item and the time left.

(Note that the box is droppable and you can get a new one from Gianne jnr, but this does NOT release you from your duty and the delivery time continues to count down.)

Every minute, a message displays in your chat box to tell you how much time is left.

Status

You can also click on the Aluft Aloft box to check your order (recipient, dish/cocktail, and time left).

If you fail to fulfill your order within the allotted time, the Aluft Aloft box disappears from your inventory. You can now go back and receive a different order.

WARNING: The timer continues to countdown even after you log out!

Delivery items can be made in advance. There are 20 possible items to deliver, which takes a lot of bank space, but this method offers a valuable time gain.

Rewards

Easy orders: A few coins and 1 credit against a token (see below).

Hard orders: Coins/item tips and 3 credits.

Credits

When you have a total of 12 credits, you get 1 reward token.

This token can be used to remote-order 1 food item from the restaurant. You can add up credits; for every 12 credits, you can order 1 more food item. You are limited to 10 items maximum.

Item tips
Possible item rewards from hard orders include:

  • bird's nests
  • blood runes
  • gnome ball
  • half of key
  • herb(s) up to snapdragon
  • uncut gem(s) (any kind)

Some of the very rare rewards include:

  • Gnome goggles
  • Gnome scarf
  • Gnomish mint cake
  • Grand seed pod (5)

HINTS:

  • Most of the ingredients can be bought in the grand tree from Hudo and Heckel Funch. The rest can be found around the Stronghold swamp or stolen from Gnomes (King worms and Swamp toads).

  • Time is short: be as light as possible to save your energy (don't wear armour or heavy objects). Boots of lightness are highly advised.

  • You will fail your order if you log out and in after your time limit is over (time does not stop if you log out)

  • You can make the items in advance so as to be ready for your order. When Gianne jnr. assigns you an order, you can go to the bank, withdraw the item and go and deliver it. Not only is this faster, but it is much easier.
