Must be able to beat a level 130 Troll.
Note: If you have completed Death Plateau prior to January 31, 2012, you will have to complete the updated version in order to do this quest.
Speak to Commander Denulth, at the Imperial Guard training camp in Burthorpe, and ask him "How goes your fight with the Trolls?". He will tell you that Dunstan's son, Godric, has been captured by the Trolls. Agree to help him.
Note: The easiest way to reach Burthorpe is to use the home teleport to Burthorpe.
Head northwest to Sabbot's cave. It is located on the west side of the Troll Invasion wall. Enter the cave and then enter the cavern in the west wall. Go through the agility obstacles and exit through the Cliffside hole. Once you exit the cavern, immediately to the northwest of the cave entrance is a small wall of rocks that you can climb over. Equip your Climbing boots and climb over the rocks and head east climbing over some more rocks along the way.
Note: If you do not have any Rock climbing boots, you can purchase them for 75,000 coins (and regular Climbing boots for 12 coins) from Freda.
When you reach the Arena gate, open it and talk to Dad (level 101). He will tell you that you need to fight him to continue on. Accept his challenge. Turn on Protect from Melee, and fight him. If you do not have Protect from Melee on, he will smash you against the nearby wall. Dad hits you for 70-110 and by being smashed against the wall you will take 150-250 damage. Those who wish to use Ranged or Magic attacks can find a safe spot near the gate.
Once he is nearly dead he will ask you to stop. Recharge your prayer points if needed, as you will need your prayers later on. Follow the path north until you come to a cave entrance. Enter the cave and leave it through the exit to the north.
Note: If you do choose to kill him, you will be attacked by a Troll Spectator (level 94).
You will appear at the foot of the mountain called Trollheim, which looks like a spiral. Follow the path but stay on the outer part of the spiral. Once you notice a group of Thrower Trolls, turn Protect from Missiles on and run by. You can also climb the rocks that lead to the thrower trolls to reach the stronghold entrance.
Head southwest until you reach a ramp heading north into the Troll stronghold. Enter the cave. Run south past the Mountain Trolls (levels 106-108) until you come to a wooden door to the west.
Enter and go north until you come to a Troll General (level 130). Turn on Protect from Melee and kill it to obtain the Prison key. Use the curvings of the cave to trap the general in order to use Ranged or Magic attacks.
Leave the area through the same wooden door, and head all the way north. Go down the staircase marked green on the Troll Stronghold map. Upon arriving on the next floor, you will see a prison cell to the east. Open the cell door using the Prison key and go down the staircase inside.
Once on the third floor, walk south until you see a number of prison cells and two trolls. Attempt to pickpocket the trolls to obtain the Cell key 1 and Cell key 2. Use the Cell key 1 to free Godric, and Cell key 2 to unlock the door of Eadgar's cell. Accompany the escaping prisoners south to the stronghold exit.
Note: If you fail to pickpocket them, they will attack. The keys can also be obtained by killing the Trolls.
Head back to Burthorpe and speak to Dunstan in the smithy, northeast of Burthorpe Castle, to claim your reward.
Note: The easiest way to reach Burthorpe is to use the home teleport to Burthorpe. Alternatively if you have your house set in Burthorpe you can use a Teleport to house tab or if you have completed the Love Story quest you can chip the Teleport to house tab and use it like a normal Teleport to house tab.
