Center of maze.
To Start:
Speak to King Bolren.
  1. Make your way through the Tree Gnome Village maze. Use the map below as a guide.

  2. Once you have got through, squeeze through the loose railing and talk to King Bolren. He will ask you to help their cause by retrieving 1 of 3 orbs of protection. Agree to help him and you will be led out of the maze by Elkoy.

  3. Talk to Commander Montai at the battlefield north of the maze the to get the latest update on the battle. To repair their defenses, he will ask for 6 loads of wood. Give him the 6 Logs and talk to him one more time. He will ask you to find out the coordinates from his Tracker gnomes to fire the ballista at the Khazard stronghold.


  4. Cross the bridge and head northwest to the biggest ruin to find the first Tracker gnome behind it. He will tell you the height-coordinate.

  5. From there, head east to find the second Tracker gnome locked in a prison cell. Talk to the gnome through the cell bars to learn the y-coordinate.

  6. Head southwest to find the third Tracker gnome on the outskirts of the Khazard camp. He will give you a riddle to decipher the x-coordinate. The riddle can be one of the following:

    • "less than my hands" means 1
    • "more than my head" means 2
    • "less than our feet" means 1-3
    • "less than my fingers" means 1-4
    • "my legs and your legs" means 4

    Note: The x-coordinate is random for everyone.

  7. Return to the Gnome side of the battlefield and go directly to the ballista. Enter the x-coordinate. If you entered it correctly, the ballista will fire and hit a Khazard building to the north.

  8. Head back to the building behind which you found the first tracker, and climb over the crumbling wall. Be prepared to fight two Khazard commanders (level 49), one downstairs and one upstairs.

  9. Once you have defeated both, open the chest on the second floor to retrieve the Orb of protection.

  10. Return to by Elkoy at the entrance to the maze, and ask him to guide you through the maze back to King Bolren.

    Note: You may simply use the right-click option "follow".


  11. Report back to King Bolren. He will briefly thank for your return, but sadly inform you that his family has been killed and the other 2 Orbs of protection taken by Khazard's troops.

  12. Leave the maze and head northwest past the Khazard camp, past the Wolves to face the Khazard warlord (level 76), who holds the remaining 2 Orbs of protection. Ignore his Khazard troopers talk to him, then attack him. He is weak to Air spells. Upon death, he will drop the remaining 2 Orbs of protection.

  13. Return the orbs of protection to to King Bolren. He will tell you about the Spirit Trees and give you your reward.
