To Start:
Talk to King Roald.
Instructions:
  1. Start by talking to King Roald in Varrock Palace and he will tell you that he has lost contact with a friend of his called Drezel, who is a monk at the Temple of Paterdomus found northeast of Varrock. He will then ask you to visit the temple to check on Drezel and return to him with any information.

  2. Make your way to the Temple of Paterdomus at the end of the path to Canifis found northeast of Varrock.

    Once there, right-click on the Large door and choose the 'Knock-at' option to talk to someone through the door who claims to be Drezel and will ask you to help them by killing the dog found in the dungeon to the north.

  3. Agree to help him and climb down the trapdoor into an underground passage where you'll find a large dog called Cerberus (level 33) which you should now kill.

  4. Once done, knock on the door of the temple again and the person claiming to be Drezel will answer and tell you to talk to King Roald.
  5. Return to King Roald in Varrock Palace and he'll tell you that Cerberus was in fact guarding the temple from the monsters found in Morytania and order you to return and fix the problem right away.

    Note: The fastest way to reach Varrock Palace is via the Varrock teleport spell, or lodestone home teleport and walking north.
  6. Once back at the temple, open the door and kill the Monks of Zamorak (level 23) until you obtain a Golden key. Now climb one of the staircases on the east side of the room to the second floor and then the ladder in the southwest corner of the room up to the third floor where you'll find Drezel locked in a cell.

  7. Right-click on the Cell door and choose the 'Talk-through' option to talk to Drezel and he'll explain that the River Salve, which the temple is built on, was blessed by Saradomin to prevent the evil of Morytania from passing into Misthalin, but is now slowly being corrupted and he needs your help to save the temple and restore Saradomin's blessing, starting with sealing the Morytania coffin next to you using water from the river to trap the vampyre and allow Drezel to escape.

  8. Make your way back down into the dungeon found north of the temple, open the gate in the passage and head into the large central room where you'll find a number of Monuments surrounding a well. Study each of these monuments until you find one with an Iron key and use your Golden key on the monument to swap it for the Iron key. Before continuing, use your Bucket on the well in the centre of the room to fill it with water from the river and obtain a murky Bucket of water.

    Note: If you wish, it is possible to obtain a Golden tinderbox, Golden hammer, Golden candle, Golden feather, Golden needle and Golden pot at this point by using the equivalent normal item on the monuments containing them.

  9. Head back up to Drezel and use the Iron key on the cell door to unlock it. Talk to Drezel inside the cell and he'll turn your murky water into a blessed Bucket of water, which you should then use on the Morytania coffin to seal the vampyre inside long enough for Drezel to escape. Once done, talk to him again and he'll tell you to meet him in the dungeon below temple.

  10. Climb back down into the dungeon and talk to Drezel in the room through the gate northeast of the monuments. He'll tell you that to remove the Zamorakian magic corrupting the River Salve, you should try purifying it with Rune essence. If you have 25 Pure essence, give him this now. If you only have Rune essence, you'll need to make two trips and can find the nearest bank in Canifis through the Holy barrier south of Drezel.

    Note: Alternatively, you can withdraw essence from a Wicked hood to save inventory space/time.

  11. Once you've given Drezel the required amount of essence, he'll re-purify the River Salve and explain a little bit about the lands that are found beyond the Holy barrier.
