Instructions:
  1. Travel to the Troll Stronghold. Once inside, descend down a set of stairs to the south and talk Burntmeat. He will tell you that he has found out that Goutweed can be grown by farming. Agree to help him and a cut scene will occur of him cooking an adventurer. Burntmeat will then tell you to help his assistant My Arm with growing the Goutweed.

Note: The easiest way to reach the Troll Stronghold is by using the Trollheim teleport spell (requires 61 Magic and completion of the Eadgar's Ruse quest).

    Burntmeat

  2. Talk to My Arm, near the goat cage to the east. He will tell you that you must search the cooking pot at the Death Plateau for a Goutweedy lump.

    My Arm

  3. Make your way to the Death Plateau, but beware of Thrower Trolls (level 77) and Mountain Trolls (level 75) inhabiting the plateau. It is therefore advised that you use the Protect from Melee and Ranged prayers during your stay. Once there, search the cooking pot in the center, whilst having a Bucket in your inventory. You will receive a Goutweedy lump and the cooks Ash or Dung may start to attack you.

Note: If you forgot to bring a Bucket, then pick one up from under the tents to the south. The easiest way to reach the Death Plateau is by using a Lodestone.

    Cooking Pot

  4. Return to the Troll Stronghold and show the Goutweedy lump to My Arm, who will eat it. He will then tell you that he has been trying to farm Goutweed but with no success and will take you to the roof of stronghold. Once up there, talk to My Arm again to the north and he will give you a Farming manual. Read the book and tell My Arm that 3 buckets of Ugthanki dung and 7 buckets of Super compost are needed to fertilize the soil.

Note: The easiest way to reach the Troll Stronghold is by using the Trollheim teleport spell (requires 61 Magic and completion of the Eadgar's Ruse quest).

  5. There are 2 ways to get your hands on the 3 buckets of Ugthanki dung. If you have completed the Enakhra's Lament quest, then the easiest way to obtain it is to talk to one of Al Kharid's camels while wearing a Camulet . The camel will then tell you to close your eyes after which the dung will appear on the ground. If you haven't completed the Enakhra's Lament quest, then you must travel to Pollnivneach. Once there, ask Ali the Kebab seller for a bottle of Red hot sauce. Use the sauce with one of the camels' trough at the camel shop to the south. One of the camels will eat from the trough and a few second later some dung will appear. Fill 3 Buckets with the Ugthanki dung.

  6. Head back to the top of the Troll Stronghold. Whilst having a Spade in your inventory, use the 3 buckets of Ugthanki dung and 7 buckets of Super compost on the soil patch near My Arm. Talk to him again and he will say that you should come with him to the Tai Bwo Wannai village. A cut scene will occur in which Captain Barnaby will take you and My Arm from East Ardougne to Brimhaven.

Note: The easiest way to reach the Troll Stronghold is by using the Trollheim teleport spell (requires 61 Magic and completion of the Eadgar's Ruse quest).

    Fertilizing

  7. Upon your arrival, My Arm will tell you to meet him in the Tai Bwo Wannai village. Head south towards the village and talk to My Arm to the east of general store. He will direct you to Murcaily near the Mahogany and Teak trees in the eastern part of the village.

    Beach

  8. Murcaily will tell that a normal Gout tuber will not grow that high in the mountains and that only a special sort will be able to grow there, the Hardy gout tubers. He will not give you one unless you have a Tai Bwo Wannai Clean Up favor level of 60% or higher. When you have the required favor, Murcaily will only give you oneHardy gout tuber and a cut scene will occur in which My Arm makes a "Rumble in da Jungle". Murcaily will then inform you that he will give you more tubers if you take My Arm away.

Note: The required favor can be earned by hacking the light, medium, and dense Jungle with a machete, fixing the village's fence, or killing the threats to the village. Antipoison potions are recommended since these threats can poison you.

    Murcaily

  9. Report back to My Arm near the general store and you will then travel back to East Ardougne. He will then tell about a big bird that attacks his crops and that you should prepare yourself for a fight. Visit a bank and withdraw a weapon, armor, a Prayer potion and a fair amount of good food. Unless you have stored your gardening tools with the Tool Leprechaun, you will also have take out a Rake, Spade, Seed dibber, and a bucket of Super compost.

  10. Once ready, head back to the roof of the Troll Stronghold and talk to My Arm again. He will ask you to assist him and to provide him with the needed garderning tools. Firstly, hand him the Rake and he will start weeding. When the patch has been weeded, My Arm will suggest that the soil must be treated before the planting can commence. Give him a bucket of Super compost and he will ask for the tubers and a seed planting device. Hand him the Hardy gout tubers and a Seed dibber and My Arm will plant them. Withdraw your Spade from the Tool Leprechaun now as he will not be there after the fight. A cut scene will occur involving a drunken dwarf.

Note: If the Rakebreaks, pick up the head and attach it to the handle. If you give My Arm a bucket of regular Compost, then the patch will eventually become diseased and will need to be cured using a Plant cure. The easiest way to reach the Troll Stronghold is by using the Trollheim teleport spell (requires 61 Magic and completion of the Eadgar's Ruse quest).

    patch

  11. Shortly after, a Baby roc (level 56) will appear and attack you. It is not very hard to defeat it. Once dead, prepare yourself for the next fight and a Giant Roc (level 77) will appear. She uses all 3 attack styles (Magic/Ranged/Melee) and can destroy your cannon.

    • Ranged attack: She will throw rocks at you, dealing a lot of damage.
    • Magic attack: She will stun small period of time, but not dealing a lot of damage.
    • Melee attack: She rarely uses this because it is her weakest attack.
Strategy: It is recommended that you use the Protect from Ranged prayer when fighting the Giant Roc because that is her strongest attack. If you wish to range or mage her, you can semi-safe spot behind the farming patch and the Tool Leprechaun's beach-chair.

    Baby and Giant Roc

  12. When you have killed the Giant Roc, the Goutweed will be fully grown. Give a Spade to My Arm and he will start harvesting it. You will receive some Farming XP for this, and My Arm will gain a Farming level.

Note: If you forgot to withdraw a Spade from the Tool Leprechaun prior to engaging in battle, you will find out that he has disappeared. Simply climb down and up the ladder to the south and he will reappear.

    Level

  13. Report back to Burntmeat and he will give you 1-28 pieces of Burnt meat. Talk My Arm on the roof of the Troll Stronghold to claim a better reward.

Note: Although the item itself is stackable, but the amount of Burnt meat you will receive will be based on the number of empty slots you have in your backpack.

    Congratulations! Quest Complete!
