Description: The Mage of Zamorak asks for you to complete a task. If you are up to the small task, you can gain access to the Abyss.

Skill Levels Required: 66 Magic, if you decide to go to the Wizards' Guild to teleport to the Rune Essence mine.

Quests Required: Rune Mysteries.

Items Needed: None.

Items Recommended: Varrock, Yanille, and East Ardougne Teleport runes, and a Amulet of glory.

Rewards: 1000 Runecrafting experience, Research notes, a Small pouch, and access to the Abyss.

Starting Point: Mage of Zamorak, north of Edgeville.

Instructions:

1. Talk to the Mage of Zamorak, and he will tell you to speak with him in Varrock.
   
   
2. Head to the Chaos Temple in the southeast of Varrock, and speak with him. He will give you a Scrying Orb. You will have to teleport to the Rune Essence mine from 3 different locations.
   
   
3. Teleport to the Rune/Pure essence mine from 3 of the following locations. It is recommended that you go to Aubury first as you are already in Varrock. After you visit three locations, the orb will begin to glow.
   
   
   • Aubury in the Varrock rune shop, just south of the eastern bank.
     
     
     
     
   • Sedridor in the Wizards' Tower, south of Draynor Village.
     
     
     
     
   • Wizard Cromperty in the building northeast of the East Ardougne market place.
     
     
     
     
   • Wizard Distentor in the Wizards' Guild in Yanille.
     Note: You must have level Magic to enter the guild.
     
     
     
     
   • Brimstail in a cave southwest in the Tree Gnome Stronghold.
     
     
     
     
4. Take the Scrying Orb (charged) back to the Mage of Zamorak and speak to him, and you are finished with your task. You may now visit the Mage of Zamorak in the Wilderness and use his a right-click option to teleport to the Abyss.
