A Tribute and Farewell

In Loving Memory

Celebrating 23 years of RuneHQ history
and the community that made it special.

More than a website: a home for adventurers, a library of shared knowledge, and friendships that reached far beyond the game.

A Tribute To

Deb & Gene

The hearts behind RuneHQ

Deb and Gene helped shape RuneHQ into a place where adventurers could learn, share, and belong. We honor their vision, dedication, kindness, and generosity, and the community built around those values.

“More than a website, RuneHQ was a home—and at its heart were two extraordinary people.”

Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

I began my Runescape journey in 2006 at 10 years old, and I frequented RuneHQ for quests like One Small Favour, Underground Pass, and Elemental Workshop. At one point, I remembered that when a quest came out I was usually tracking RuneHQ because of their dedication and speed to trailblaze these quests and guides for us.
I am sorry for this community's loss, and I appreciate being able to share a sentiment to my memories here.
It's odd turning 30 this year and feeling like we're all experiencing the end of a great era where people like Deb & Gene worked for us gamers out of love rather than monetization of our shared interests.

Thank you for all the great knowledge you shared with us! May your stories live on in OSRS history as one of the greatest guides on the web in the early 2000’s!!!! Much love to the RuneHQ Family and Friends!!! May we all remember the long nights reading quest guides and how-to’s!!!!!

I will never forget Rune HQ. It was what kept me engaged in questing back on RS2 while going through middle and high school. My high-school library printer went "buuuuuur" printing out countless pages of quest guides. I wore that thing out. Haha. This website was the foundation of my progression in a game I grew up loving and love to this day. Much love and many thanks!!

I remember using this site for help back when I was 10 when I was saving up my allowance money to go to the public library and book a computer for like 4+ hours. Looked forward to it all month. I lived in a small town with no computer or home internet. These guys made my day of RuneScape productive. Rip to those 2 and I hope they're flying high on eagles wings. Wish this site would stay up but I understand why it can't. All the best ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you guys for getting young me through the game and helping me create memories and meet really cool people along the way

I used to play RuneScape at my local town library after school and would use this site for my quest guide back in the day. We were only granted 3 hours of computer access per day but I noticed people would just come in like 10 minutes at a time so I would memorize their library card number for my next session, usually on weekends only or until my mom picked me up. She had work across the street. We never had an issue with the librarian as we were smart about it and only took an extra 2 hours from each person we took from and we would learn new cards rather than keeping the same one. We were minors at the time and it’s been nearly 20 years since then.
