A Tribute and Farewell

In Loving Memory

Celebrating 23 years of RuneHQ history
and the community that made it special.

More than a website: a home for adventurers, a library of shared knowledge, and friendships that reached far beyond the game.

A Tribute To

Deb & Gene

The hearts behind RuneHQ

Deb and Gene helped shape RuneHQ into a place where adventurers could learn, share, and belong. We honor their vision, dedication, kindness, and generosity, and the community built around those values.

“More than a website, RuneHQ was a home—and at its heart were two extraordinary people.”

Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

Found this when I was a kid and couldn't figure out how to do the Vampyre Slayer quest, used the site for so long afterwards. RIP, this was a childhood core for myself and many others

I can think of Countless memories of runehq helping me solve all the clues and quest as a kid

thank you

Back in the mid to late 2000s when I was still learning the game, this website helped make it all make sense. Everything from item stats and locations to quest guides and boss strategies, it helped me engage with content I probably wouldn't have figured out otherwise. It's sad to see you go, but you won't be forgotten.

I first started playing RS in 2004, when I was about 7 years old. For the first few years I truly had no idea what I was doing besides running around Varrock with a staff and killing people as a low level.

My first few quests I was finally able to complete were because of RuneHQ and here I am 20+ years later still playing and a lot of it is because of people like you all who ran these websites.

If it wasn't for RHQ I'd probably never have completed Desert Treasure. I spent over 3 days trying to figure out something that was right in front of me. One of the most intuitive guide sites that's ever been. I still used RHQ when I didn't feel like listening to a OSRS youtuber take 30 hours to do something that's supposed to be quick.

This website has been apart of my life for a huge portion of my childhood and I'm currently 30. I've spent countless hours staying up late at night questing and just learning ingeneral about the game I've grown up playing.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for providing us with a wonderful community and a plethora of knowledge.

Rest in paradise ❤️

I spent more nights in RuneHQ than I did doing homework. So many memories and having friends over for gaming nights. This site helped raise an entire generation. Let’s not be sad that an era has ended, but be happy that we experienced it.

This website brings back so many core memories from my childhood. Countless hours on RuneScape using this website to guide me through it all. Thank you Gene and Deb. May you rest in peace 🕊️
