A Tribute and Farewell

In Loving Memory

Celebrating 23 years of RuneHQ history
and the community that made it special.

More than a website: a home for adventurers, a library of shared knowledge, and friendships that reached far beyond the game.

A Tribute To

Deb & Gene

The hearts behind RuneHQ

Deb and Gene helped shape RuneHQ into a place where adventurers could learn, share, and belong. We honor their vision, dedication, kindness, and generosity, and the community built around those values.

“More than a website, RuneHQ was a home—and at its heart were two extraordinary people.”

Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

Runehq helped my foster brothers and myself with friends growing up, through many accounts. Thank you for our childhood in a way, always in the communities hearts

Ever since I was a kid and played Runescape for the first time, I was always blown away by a site like RuneHQ. Whether it was solving the lever puzzle in Ernest the Chicken or learning about specific bosses and enemies, this was the quintessential website any kid or young adult could ever have when playing this game. You will go down in history as one of the greatest Wikis/Guide sites of all time, thanks for everything.

While I still played RuneScape, RuneHQ was a major reason why I kept coming back. It had its ups and downs, but it hurts to see that it will now close definitively. Many tickles to those I got to know here. It was a good ride.

RuneHQ was the first place that I really wanted to help the community. It was an amazing team to be apart of that I will always remember. RuneHQ was also the reason that I got to attend RuneFest in 2013, which is something I will always be grateful for as it was an experience I will never forgot. Although I'm not part of RuneHQ anymore it is still extremely sad to see that it is closing its doors for the final time. It will always be remembered as one of the great RuneScape communities and help sites. RIP :(.

I used RuneHQ for years as a kids up until adulthood. Without it I don't think I would have gotten to where I was.

Thank you for everything you did for the community through the years.

A Farewell to Our Community

Thank You

To our visitors, members, guide writers, donors, moderators, staff, and friends: thank you for every question answered, every guide improved, every discussion shared, and every friendship formed.

RuneHQ was more than a website. It was a community, and that was always because of you.

Although the site is closing, the RuneHQ Discord and clan will continue, giving the community a place to stay connected and carry on the friendships built here.

It's not goodbye, just a new chapter.
