A Tribute and Farewell

In Loving Memory

Celebrating 23 years of RuneHQ history
and the community that made it special.

More than a website: a home for adventurers, a library of shared knowledge, and friendships that reached far beyond the game.

A Tribute To

Deb & Gene

The hearts behind RuneHQ

Deb and Gene helped shape RuneHQ into a place where adventurers could learn, share, and belong. We honor their vision, dedication, kindness, and generosity, and the community built around those values.

“More than a website, RuneHQ was a home—and at its heart were two extraordinary people.”

Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

I first used RuneHQ almost 20 years ago. It's crazy to think how your passion-project to help adventures advance in their gaming journey turned into such a big deal bringing together a community. Thank you for the help along the way.

RuneHQ was my go-to for RuneScape guides back in the mid 2000's. I have fond memories from my childhood, of coming home from school every day, and loading up RuneScape and RuneHQ, ready to tackle a new quest until I finally achieved my Quest Cape. I never would have finished the likes of Monkey Madness, or Mourning's End without RuneHQ and the hardworking people that maintained and contributed to it. Thank you to Deb and Gene, and everyone else involved with RuneHQ. <3

Thank you for helping to make my childhood awesome, RuneHQ was an absolute necessity in learning, guiding, and made clue scrolls 1000x easier. Thank you again for making Runescape a great experience, all the time, and efforts into updating guides, and information

I used this site back in 2006 all the time, it was the only reason I got to use a d long sword! I didn't know these two behind this, but I can already tell they were amazing people and blessed the lives of not only their loved ones but anyone who was lucky enough to stumble across their site. God bless

I just want to thank everyone involved in this website. Before OSRS Wiki, this was my go-to site for runescape info, quests and guides.

RIP Deb and Gene.

Thank you for all the years of service from questing to skilling without RuneHQ my childhood would have been dull

Alive I I I

Between RuneHQ & Tip.it, I always had an available resource in my teens to rely on. The information especially on RuneHQ was amazing and I was always appreciative of the time and effort the team went through to produce it, especially in the early days. Thanks Deb & Gene and the team.

RuneHQ was a staple of my and many others time in Runescape. I still remember the first time I heard about it, in 2006 in the stronghold of security. I was at the lowest level minotaurs talking about quests with a guy and he said to "use qhenur" in a comical attempt to get around ostensible rules about advertising websites. From then on it was my one and only website I used for quest guides up until I finally quit rs2.

Thanks for the memories.
