A Tribute and Farewell

In Loving Memory

Celebrating 23 years of RuneHQ history
and the community that made it special.

More than a website: a home for adventurers, a library of shared knowledge, and friendships that reached far beyond the game.

A Tribute To

Deb & Gene

The hearts behind RuneHQ

Deb and Gene helped shape RuneHQ into a place where adventurers could learn, share, and belong. We honor their vision, dedication, kindness, and generosity, and the community built around those values.

“More than a website, RuneHQ was a home—and at its heart were two extraordinary people.”

Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

I’ve used this site my whole life it feels like. I never once thought about how or who hosted it. Thank you Deb and Gene. You’ve helped many.

Back in 2006-2010 I used your website to look up stuff about the game and it was an amazing source of information which was hard to come by at that time. Thank-you both for keeping this website alive for all these years.

Go-to place for guides & know-hows

RuneHQ was the first place that I really wanted to help the community. It was an amazing team to be apart of that I will always remember. RuneHQ was also the reason that I got to attend RuneFest in 2013, which is something I will always be grateful for as it was an experience I will never forgot. Although I'm not part of RuneHQ anymore it is still extremely sad to see that it is closing its doors for the final time. It will always be remembered as one of the great RuneScape communities and help sites. RIP :(.

Lots of memories from my childhood with RuneHQ and lots of good information too. I remember walking to my moms work everyday after school and logging into the RHQ chatroom and spending hours there. Every now and then I'll see someone's username and it's funny how the mind can still associate seeing their username to what color their role on the forums was (like how Wolfy and Werty were brown bc they were chat mods).

Never forget World 60 as the home world for RHQ.

Used to be a very big part in my Runescape journey, this as well as Tip.It and Runezone were all very frequent places for me to end up early on. I appreciate all this site and those who've worked on it have done to help the community be a little bit closer.

Thank You

To our visitors, members, guide writers, donors, moderators, staff, and friends: thank you for every question answered, every guide improved, every discussion shared, and every friendship formed.

RuneHQ was more than a website. It was a community, and that was always because of you.

Although the site is closing, the RuneHQ Discord and clan will continue, giving the community a place to stay connected and carry on the friendships built here.

It's not goodbye, just a new chapter.
