A Tribute and Farewell

In Loving Memory

Celebrating 23 years of RuneHQ history
and the community that made it special.

More than a website: a home for adventurers, a library of shared knowledge, and friendships that reached far beyond the game.

A Tribute To

Deb & Gene

The hearts behind RuneHQ

Deb and Gene helped shape RuneHQ into a place where adventurers could learn, share, and belong. We honor their vision, dedication, kindness, and generosity, and the community built around those values.

“More than a website, RuneHQ was a home—and at its heart were two extraordinary people.”

Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

Obviously times pass and everything will eventually move on. I used runehq to look at cool monsters, items and calculators. Thankyou for being one of the early sources of information for a game that shaped my childhood.

RuneHQ was a mandatory part of learning the game back in the day as a kid. I’ll always remember looking back and forth between the quest guide and my character as a 10-year old. Tedious, but necessary. Thank you for helping to create some of the best gaming memories on Runescape!

While I no longer play RuneScape, I am grateful for the role it had and continues to have in my life. Friends of mine have gotten married through this game, I learned to type at a ridiculous speed and continue to see my social group play. Good bye RuneHQ and thank you for all the adventures.

A piece of my childhood was on this website. Always bounced back between here and Sals. Thank you for the memories, and I know in 20 years from now (God willing) I’ll think of RuneScape and Rune HQ and smile. Thanks for everything!

A Farewell to Our Community

Thank You

To our visitors, members, guide writers, donors, moderators, staff, and friends: thank you for every question answered, every guide improved, every discussion shared, and every friendship formed.

RuneHQ was more than a website. It was a community, and that was always because of you.

Although the site is closing, the RuneHQ Discord and clan will continue, giving the community a place to stay connected and carry on the friendships built here.

It's not goodbye, just a new chapter.

The Community Continues
