A Tribute and Farewell

In Loving Memory

Celebrating 23 years of RuneHQ history
and the community that made it special.

More than a website: a home for adventurers, a library of shared knowledge, and friendships that reached far beyond the game.

A Tribute To

Deb & Gene

The hearts behind RuneHQ

Deb and Gene helped shape RuneHQ into a place where adventurers could learn, share, and belong. We honor their vision, dedication, kindness, and generosity, and the community built around those values.

“More than a website, RuneHQ was a home—and at its heart were two extraordinary people.”

Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

My brother and I used to play RS together in the 2000s, and I still remember when we first got membership together. We had a whole plan of what quests to do and dedicated a whole night to playing since our parents were out of town.

We used RuneHQ to get through elemental workshop, underground pass, and many more. Great memories, helped along by a great site

I used RuneHQ for its guides and databases a few years before becoming a staff member. I enjoyed being part of the community and will miss RuneHQ greatly as it has been a part of my life for 2 decades.

Runehq was my goto during the golden days of runescape. It taught me so much and I am grateful for it. It's shocking and sad to see it go but I'm happy I can leave a message. Thank you to all who maintained it and kept it going for so long.

RuneHQ is a landmark to the RuneScape history, one that was once cemented as the go to for any and all help to navigate the game and remembered by all of the RuneScape community, even beyond the closure.

Rest in peace

I guess time marches on. As I come back to the game, seeing a sweet piece of long ago wind down is sad. Grateful for the many years of excellence at RuneHQ. One small favor.....would have been a big favor without you. Maybe still was ;-)

Thanks for so many years of helping me when I was a child playing RS. The thoughts of coming on this site when I was younger make me feel warm inside.

It's a sad time to see another piece of my childhood history disappear. That being said, thanks RuneHQ for all those Skill Calcs and quest helping! You will be missed!

Lots of memories from my childhood with RuneHQ and lots of good information too. I remember walking to my moms work everyday after school and logging into the RHQ chatroom and spending hours there. Every now and then I'll see someone's username and it's funny how the mind can still associate seeing their username to what color their role on the forums was (like how Wolfy and Werty were brown bc they were chat mods).

Never forget World 60 as the home world for RHQ.

OSRS name: Atod1 (feel free to reach out). Alfawarlord, if you read this, I still have you added.

A Farewell to Our Community

Thank You

To our visitors, members, guide writers, donors, moderators, staff, and friends: thank you for every question answered, every guide improved, every discussion shared, and every friendship formed.

RuneHQ was more than a website. It was a community, and that was always because of you.

Although the site is closing, the RuneHQ Discord and clan will continue, giving the community a place to stay connected and carry on the friendships built here.

It's not goodbye, just a new chapter.

The Community Continues
