In Loving Memory

Used RuneHQ on a daily basis as a kid back during 2005-2008 days, made my Runescape adventure back then so much better.

After many years of overcoming all sorts of obstacles and challenges to keep the RuneHQ website up and running, it saddens me a great deal to realize it's now finally coming to an end. So many people have passionately (and voluntarily) worked on this website and community over the years that it's hard to express the impact it has had in words. I myself first joined the RuneHQ staff as a Content Editor back in 2006, as a 13-year-old. I remember feeling extremely proud to be given that opportunity and trust, especially at such a young age. It was my first encounter with coding; it sparked my interest so much that I started to teach myself PHP, which eventually grew into starting my own one-man web development business in real life. So I can truly say RuneHQ shaped an important part of my life. I also had the pleasure of working alongside Gene(a.k.a. MrStormy, the founder) and DRAVAN at the time, as well as many other people—too many to name. I will cherish the memories and thank everyone who has been part of RuneHQ all these years. Even though the website is closing down, it's great to know the community can still get together on our Discord channel, hopefully to remain for a long time to come!

I never met Gene, but I heard lots of stories about him. I regret not being able to get to know him. I have chatted briefly with Deb a few times and found her to be a very nice lady. They will both be missed greatly.

I've used RuneHQ for years for help with my Runescape journey. You have always been very helpful, from just finding out what certain items did and how to obtain them to getting through the latest quest. I would not be where I am without you. Sad to see you go, but I wish you all the best in your future endevours.

A long time ago I was a part of the RuneHQ clan and events team before I went off to college. I got my completionist cape in 2015 posting my progress on the forums by using RuneHQ's quest guides. I had plenty of fun hanging around in the IRC and Teamspeak (or was it Ventrilo, my memory fails me a little). The IRC crew helped me get my 120 dungeoneering back when it was the only 120. I loved dungeoneering but wouldn't have a full squad nearly as often if it weren't for RuneHQ. We got so many hexhunter bows together and helped so many people get them too. I also wouldn't have found a love for high level bossing if it weren't for the Teamspeak (or was it Ventrilo) RuneHQ fellas first teaching me Araxxor and then frequent Vorago, Raids, ROTS, etc. When I came back to the game I had 84 Vorago kills and no idea how to beat him. Thank you to Double D Edd, Kassandra, Prelations, Darvin, Witch King of Angmar, many more I am forgetting, and of course, Kunio, my former neighbor and great longstanding friend who helped me reacquaint myself with the new discord and events team. Maybe the site is going away but I hope to join more events in the future and play with Kunio and the rest of the gang for as long as I play Runescape.

This is extremely sad to hear your closing the one and only quest guides from the of days, I’m truly gonna miss this place and I have had so many happy adventures thanks to this website, thank you to the team behind it and I hope you all have a great future knowing you have helped so many with this, I don’t know you but I love and adore you all
