A Tribute and Farewell

In Loving Memory

Celebrating 23 years of RuneHQ history
and the community that made it special.

More than a website: a home for adventurers, a library of shared knowledge, and friendships that reached far beyond the game.

A Tribute To

Deb & Gene

The hearts behind RuneHQ

Deb and Gene helped shape RuneHQ into a place where adventurers could learn, share, and belong. We honor their vision, dedication, kindness, and generosity, and the community built around those values.

“More than a website, RuneHQ was a home—and at its heart were two extraordinary people.”

Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

I remembered as a kid visiting this website and being fascinated with the tools. Till this day with the amount of tools we have available and Ai, I much rather go the old fashioned way and read a guide and go through everything myself. I loved every bit of it and what it provided for the community. Thank you. May god bless your souls

Thank you for 20+ years from helping a clueless kid to now a clueless adult.

I’ve been an off and on OSRS player for years and in all honesty I forgot about this site until I saw that it was closing and I got major nostalgia. From playing mostly during the mid to late 2000’s sites like this were how I completed quests and gained more knowledge about the game. It’s sad to see a resource from my youth disappear but I would like to express my thanks to those that helped shape my early RS days.

I have been considering picking up the game again and now I think I will do that I can enjoy community sites like this before they’re all gone for good.

RuneHQ, Tip.it, and Sal’s Realm were my go to’s in the late 2000’s for RuneScape information. This page will always be a reminder of simpler times in my youth when efficiency wasn’t key and we were just playing a game to have fun

After spending my whole childhood and even a large majority of adulthood thus far playing RuneScape I can’t tell you how many times I went out to look on RuneHq. The time and dedication put into this website and everything about it was unmatched. Forever grateful. Thank you

Truly the end of an Era, I still remember discovering your website in grade school shortly after starting my original Runescape 2 character. The first time I ever defeated Elvarg for Dragon slayer 1 was thanks to Rune HQ. To this day I still remember in fine detail the moment I slayed Elvarg I was jumping up down screaming so loud my mom thought someone was hurting me, once I explained what was happening we laughed so hard. I wanted to thank you for providing me with a core memory from my childhood I still look back on fondly and laugh at; especially now since my mother has since passed. Thank you Deb & Gene for being one of the original bed rock pillars of the Runescape Community; May both of you rest in peace. And also a big thank you to anyone involved behind the scenes. You have honored Deb & Gene so very well. I wish you all the very best.

Until our paths cross again in Gielinor,
