Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

I first started playing RS in 2004, when I was about 7 years old. For the first few years I truly had no idea what I was doing besides running around Varrock with a staff and killing people as a low level.

My first few quests I was finally able to complete were because of RuneHQ and here I am 20+ years later still playing and a lot of it is because of people like you all who ran these websites.

Before I became staff, I used this site for years to complete quests and calculate stuff for potions. It was a major part of my life. Later, I had the opportunity to become part of the community. This site has been an amazing part of my life. May RHQ rest in peace

RuneHQ was one of the first sites I used for guides and general info back in 2008, over the years I started using the Wiki more often, but I will always look back to the fond memories of RuneHQ, you shall be missed!

I’ve been an off and on OSRS player for years and in all honesty I forgot about this site until I saw that it was closing and I got major nostalgia. From playing mostly during the mid to late 2000’s sites like this were how I completed quests and gained more knowledge about the game. It’s sad to see a resource from my youth disappear but I would like to express my thanks to those that helped shape my early RS days.

I have been considering picking up the game again and now I think I will do that I can enjoy community sites like this before they’re all gone for good.

Runehq was what I used back in the day to complete quests, didn't know how to read english and runehq became the site that taught me how to read and write in english via quests I completed, I'll forever remember the good memories.

A Farewell to Our Community

To our visitors, members, guide writers, donors, moderators, staff, and friends: thank you for every question answered, every guide improved, every discussion shared, and every friendship formed.

RuneHQ was more than a website. It was a community, and that was always because of you.

Although the site is closing, the RuneHQ Discord and clan will continue, giving the community a place to stay connected and carry on the friendships built here.

It's not goodbye, just a new chapter.
