A Tribute and Farewell

In Loving Memory

Celebrating 23 years of RuneHQ history
and the community that made it special.

More than a website: a home for adventurers, a library of shared knowledge, and friendships that reached far beyond the game.

A Tribute To

Deb & Gene

The hearts behind RuneHQ

Deb and Gene helped shape RuneHQ into a place where adventurers could learn, share, and belong. We honor their vision, dedication, kindness, and generosity, and the community built around those values.

“More than a website, RuneHQ was a home—and at its heart were two extraordinary people.”

Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

My brother and I used to play RS together in the 2000s, and I still remember when we first got membership together. We had a whole plan of what quests to do and dedicated a whole night to playing since our parents were out of town.

We used RuneHQ to get through elemental workshop, underground pass, and many more. Great memories, helped along by a great site

I am returning after a many year hiatus. This news has left me profoundly sad. The calculators, quest guides, and treasure trail helped me truly reach a level of fun on RS that would have been otherwise impossible. Will forever have a spot in my heart for this site and the people who made it what it was.

Really going to miss this website. It all started here for me. This site has helped me through so much knowledge I carry today. I will forever cherish the memories and hold them close. RuneHQ may be going away but it’ll never be forgotten. <3

RuneHQ was the go-to spot for quest guides back in the day. Without RuneHQ, I would've never finished Dragon Slayer 1 as a kid, and probably wouldn't have enjoyed RuneScape as much as I do. Cheers to Deb and Gene for fueling my lifelong addiction to RuneScape. I wouldn't have it any other way <3

been using runeHQ on and off for about 20 years (you never stop playing you only take breaks), first used it in 4th grade now Im a grown man with 3 kids pushing 30, how the internet and we have all changed appreciate all the help throughout the decades sad to see another one of the sites from the 2000's go dark. Thanks for eveything you've done for the community over the years!

So many days playing RuneScape. When nighttime comes, I used to get under my sheets and boot up my PSP, open the web browser, and browse RUNEHQ until 4am, every night, without fail. I am filled with sadness.

I used to use RuneHq all the time as a kid for quest guides and was vital in helping me to complete Monkey Madness back in the day. I just want to say thank you for all the help all those years ago. <3

I switched to other websites later, but using RuneHQs guides early on probably kept me playing long enough to really get into the game. It wasn't my goto rs guide site for long, but it was what helped me really get into the game and for that I'll always be grateful. Thank you for all your hard work over the years, and for making the game a better place.

Thank you so much for everything you guys have done. Child me would not have been able to defeat Elvarg with RuneHQ. I am 28 years old now but will never forget how Runescape and this community sculpted my adolescent years, allowing me to fill my life up with wizards, dragons, imps and shit, instead of being a brain rotted doomscroller like these new kids. LOVE YOU GUYS, RUNEHQ TILL INFINITY.
