A Tribute and Farewell

In Loving Memory

Celebrating 23 years of RuneHQ history
and the community that made it special.

More than a website: a home for adventurers, a library of shared knowledge, and friendships that reached far beyond the game.

A Tribute To

Deb & Gene

The hearts behind RuneHQ

Deb and Gene helped shape RuneHQ into a place where adventurers could learn, share, and belong. We honor their vision, dedication, kindness, and generosity, and the community built around those values.

Deb & Gene

“More than a website, RuneHQ was a home—and at its heart were two extraordinary people.”

Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

This site meant a lot to me in my youth and teen years. It was a place of shared experience, friendship and learning. The people were the main focus of the site not the game which many of us stopped playing at various points. I wish everyone the best. - Isildurs_Son / Chownuggs.

I grew up playing runescape with my father and my friends. My 7 year old daughter recently started playing it, and when she asked me a question about a quest i said "oh, well you just have to go to RuneHQ and look it up." and here i am writing this message. Cant believe its been 20 years. Very grateful for all the memories.

Help me understand so much of this game way back in 2005-2007 when I was only 14-16. Used to love just browsing through it like a wiki and reading everything and discovering so much, thank you runehq team from Ireland

Thank you for everything. This resource was invaluable to me as a child, and taught me valuable lessons about the wealth of information on the internet, and how to get it. o7 to a real one. We won't forget you all.

I haven't played RS in years and don't think I'll ever return but this site was so helpful when I was playing regularly that it's always stayed present in my memories of those golden days of 'Scape.

Thank you for all who contributed to this site and helped guide me along my adventures in this game as a kid, I wouldn't have had nearly as much fun without you.
