A Tribute and Farewell

In Loving Memory

Celebrating 23 years of RuneHQ history
and the community that made it special.

More than a website: a home for adventurers, a library of shared knowledge, and friendships that reached far beyond the game.

A Tribute To

Deb & Gene

The hearts behind RuneHQ

Deb and Gene helped shape RuneHQ into a place where adventurers could learn, share, and belong. We honor their vision, dedication, kindness, and generosity, and the community built around those values.

Deb & Gene

“More than a website, RuneHQ was a home—and at its heart were two extraordinary people.”

Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

I haven't really played the game in a bit but RuneHQ was my go to when I did back in the day.

Sad to see it go. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for all the hard work put into every bit of the site over the years. Without RuneHQ, I probably wouldn't be as addicted to RuneScape as I was. But that journey brought me the people I have around me today. Thank you. <3

I never met Gene, but I heard lots of stories about him. I regret not being able to get to know him. I have chatted briefly with Deb a few times and found her to be a very nice lady. They will both be missed greatly.

Thank you for helping us troughout the years. I used to get lost inside articles for the fun of it and it helped me learn a lot about the game and how a lot of items worked. I am so grateful that I was part of that community, in silence but a part nonetheless. Thank you for everything.

Another Guide Reader

When I started playing RS in 2008 RuneHQ was instrumental in helping me develop as a player. I learned so much from the quest guides and I couldn't have completed them without it. Even typing this now I can't believe it was that long ago. Thank you so much for everything RuneHQ. I will always remember!

Used this website constantly growing up in some of my most cherished memories with my brother and friends. Even used it more recently after coming back to OSRS for a bit after a long hiatus. Thanks for the memories, Deb and Gene. May you rest in peace.

Thank you for all you’ve done. I remember printing out quest guides and being part of this fantastic community as a kid, even introducing my friends in middle school to it. It’s places like these that shaped RuneScape as we know it.

I remember using this to solve the regicide quest, the one with tar barrels. Felt so good to unlock elf lands. I still remember the screenshot of completing the quest. ripperoni...

All things are temporary, but what a sweet journey it was.
