A Tribute and Farewell

In Loving Memory

Celebrating 23 years of RuneHQ history
and the community that made it special.

More than a website: a home for adventurers, a library of shared knowledge, and friendships that reached far beyond the game.

A Tribute To

Deb & Gene

The hearts behind RuneHQ

Deb and Gene helped shape RuneHQ into a place where adventurers could learn, share, and belong. We honor their vision, dedication, kindness, and generosity, and the community built around those values.

Deb & Gene

“More than a website, RuneHQ was a home—and at its heart were two extraordinary people.”

Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

This website was the only thing that I could consistently understand and utilise, even with my disabilities. Everything on there was so well written and easy to comprehend. It was a place of inclusion for me since day one. Thank you Deb and Gene for being the amazing faces behind such a useful tool. The memories of RuneHQ will live in my heart, and so many others, forever.

I came here, every day during my early days of runescape - the guides to walk through desert treasure, monkey madness, lost city, all of them helped establish the addiction that was runeacape for me. I am happy to see this fold into inexistence in a peaceful exit - thank you.

RuneHQ was the go to place to anything RS related. Before RuneLite we had RuneHQ and Swiftkit. 20+ years ago, as a kid, I used them regularly. Thank you, Deb and Gene, for the childhood memories. Rest in Peace.

Thanks for all of the help over the years. Not a chance I'd have gotten as far as I have without RuneHQ and it's heartbreaking to see it go. Thank you for everything <3

This website was everything to me and my sister back in the day. Hours spent browsing the guides, posts, and information. Much love.

Very sad to hear those news. RuneHQ's impact on my life is still felt, now over 8 years since my departure. The close-knit community, unforgettable TeamSpeak and Skype calls, the memes, oh God the memes! Lovely people, lovely memories. Thank you for being the first community in RuneScape where I truly felt that I belonged. I was honoured to be trusted enough to be a staff member for those few years, around 2014. Time sure flies. Thank you for everything.

I am returning after a many year hiatus. This news has left me profoundly sad. The calculators, quest guides, and treasure trail helped me truly reach a level of fun on RS that would have been otherwise impossible. Will forever have a spot in my heart for this site and the people who made it what it was.
