A Tribute and Farewell

In Loving Memory

Celebrating 23 years of RuneHQ history
and the community that made it special.

More than a website: a home for adventurers, a library of shared knowledge, and friendships that reached far beyond the game.

A Tribute To

Deb & Gene

The hearts behind RuneHQ

Deb and Gene helped shape RuneHQ into a place where adventurers could learn, share, and belong. We honor their vision, dedication, kindness, and generosity, and the community built around those values.

“More than a website, RuneHQ was a home—and at its heart were two extraordinary people.”

Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

This brings back soo many memories. God bless the founders, such genuine souls. I used runehq all the time to do quests and just find out about stuff in the game. Thank you for everything.

7-year old me in 2003 was lost and afraid in Gielinor but RuneHQ had all the answers.

Thank you for the memories.

Thank you for helping me so much as a kid and an adult! I am so sad this has happened. Your quest has ended here but your imprint stays with all of us.

Thanks for all the support back in my early days of my RS journey. I always found myself on here when doing a quest or training a skill. The site will go down in history.

Thanks for everything, many great and sometimes painful memories questing and reading guides with brothers and dad.

Rip guys.

I've gone by so many usernames over the years so I decided to go with my first since that's when I first used RuneHQ, in 2006. I used RuneHQ for so long since I first started playing RuneScape, esp. for the quest guides. Sometimes I'd use Tip.it, or Sal's Realm but it was primarily RuneHQ. Even when I had joined Zybez's Ventrilo server and became part of the community there, I still exclusively used RuneHQ. It wasn't until Jagex tried their hand at hosting a wiki that my use of fansites altogether started to wane. It sucks to see a piece of history go but it's understandable. RuneHQ will be missed.

Thank you for helping to make my childhood awesome, RuneHQ was an absolute necessity in learning, guiding, and made clue scrolls 1000x easier. Thank you again for making Runescape a great experience, all the time, and efforts into updating guides, and information

Thank you for helping me complete the legends quest way way back in 2006.

Dear Team,

Although I haven't played RuneScape since 2012, that was also pretty much the last year when the majority of the Lithuanian Clan Wars community decided to say farewell to RuneScape.

However, seeing the post about RuneHQ saying farewell hit quite differently.

For so many years, you guided the majority of us towards achieving what was possible in the game without unnecessary hassle. In fact, your guides saved us so much time that, if we were to add it all up, it would probably amount to several lifetimes — and quite possibly much more!

Generations of RuneScape players are truly grateful for everything you have done, and we wish you all the very best in whatever comes next.

Thank you!

P.S. Visit Lithuania — once a great RuneScape nation! :)

A Farewell to Our Community

Thank You

To our visitors, members, guide writers, donors, moderators, staff, and friends: thank you for every question answered, every guide improved, every discussion shared, and every friendship formed.

RuneHQ was more than a website. It was a community, and that was always because of you.

Although the site is closing, the RuneHQ Discord and clan will continue, giving the community a place to stay connected and carry on the friendships built here.

It's not goodbye, just a new chapter.
