A Tribute and Farewell

In Loving Memory

Celebrating 23 years of RuneHQ history
and the community that made it special.

More than a website: a home for adventurers, a library of shared knowledge, and friendships that reached far beyond the game.

A Tribute To

Deb & Gene

The hearts behind RuneHQ

Deb and Gene helped shape RuneHQ into a place where adventurers could learn, share, and belong. We honor their vision, dedication, kindness, and generosity, and the community built around those values.

“More than a website, RuneHQ was a home—and at its heart were two extraordinary people.”

Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

RuneHQ is where I came for all the guides and planning back in ‘06-‘08. While I moved on to other sites and tools, the early days visiting here when no where else had the info was key to me enjoying the game.
Thanks for all the guides and tools and being there in the early days.

I used to use RuneHQ all the time when I was a kid for years and years i'd come and get quest help, use the calculators or just to get random information. I started using this site when I was around 9 years old in 2005 im 30 now I still always think about how this site was a big part of my childhood. Thanks for all the memories RuneHQ you were always the GOAT.

Man seeing this blows my mind. I know im not the only saying this but it seems like all the good things for gamers are going away. This is one of them. Now we have quest helper and its not the same.

What a journey! 2004, I was 10 (shh don’t tell anyone) and I was introduced to RuneScape and RuneHQ. Hours and hours were spent playing with RuneHQ in the background. Built lifelong friends, and without RuneHQ we’d probably still be stuck on some quests. Thank you all for the memories that last a lifetime, God Bless <3

I've used RuneHQ since my cousin introduced me back in 04. You lovely people have played such a huge part of my childhood.

Thank you for the fond memories.

Chook

I remember sitting in my friend’s basement playing RuneScape together. Trying to quest with RuneHQ on another window. Great memories sad to see it end, but without an ending you can’t appreciate the beginning.

I used to play Runescape often when I was younger. Some of my fondest memories growing up - both fortunately and unfortunately - were made in Gielinor. And during those times, before there Runescape Wiki became more popular, I would always come back to RuneHQ for its guides on...everything. Thank you for guiding that pre-teen along in the game.

RuneHQ was a true gem. I started playing in early 2007 and it became an invaluable resource.

Thank you to RuneHQ! Without your help I could've never done Dragon Slayer on my own

I've gone by so many usernames over the years so I decided to go with my first since that's when I first used RuneHQ, in 2006. I used RuneHQ for so long since I first started playing RuneScape, esp. for the quest guides. Sometimes I'd use Tip.it, or Sal's Realm but it was primarily RuneHQ. Even when I had joined Zybez's Ventrilo server and became part of the community there, I still exclusively used RuneHQ. It wasn't until Jagex tried their hand at hosting a wiki that my use of fansites altogether started to wane. It sucks to see a piece of history go but it's understandable. RuneHQ will be missed.
