A Tribute and Farewell

In Loving Memory

Celebrating 23 years of RuneHQ history
and the community that made it special.

More than a website: a home for adventurers, a library of shared knowledge, and friendships that reached far beyond the game.

A Tribute To

Deb & Gene

The hearts behind RuneHQ

Deb and Gene helped shape RuneHQ into a place where adventurers could learn, share, and belong. We honor their vision, dedication, kindness, and generosity, and the community built around those values.

“More than a website, RuneHQ was a home—and at its heart were two extraordinary people.”

Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

without Sals Realm, and eventually Rune HQ, I wouldve never been able to play this game efficiently. This is some seriously heartbreaking news, and I really hope Jagex takes over here and keeps the site at least alive. Thank you Deb, Gene, and everyone else that's helped to keep this site running, I never thought i'd be crying over a runescape guide page and complete strangers.

playing since 2001, Rune HQ user since 2003

I used RuneHQ for years as a kids up until adulthood. Without it I don't think I would have gotten to where I was.

Thank you for everything you did for the community through the years.

I still remember walking through the gates of Taverley for the first time after getting membership. Without RuneHQ, I would've been so lost. Thank you!

My father, brother and I played this game when I was growing up and my brother and I still play to this day. When I discovered RuneHQ in 2006 I knew this would help me become the RS player I am today. I printed off a map of Zanaris when my dad first told me he got there. I would link him quest guides when he needed help. This site became the cornerstone of doing research before I jumped into any new (to me) content in the game. Thank you Deb and Gene for 23 years of excellence, professionalism and the ramp to make me the players and people we are today. I will be forever grateful for the information they and all of you have posted here.

Had to come back to say thanks. Before all these guides, and LLMs it was you. So thanks:)

Waking up, there’s no school, you have your grandma or mom print out the guides and you get to it. The memories will last forever, thank you for being such a huge impact not only to my life but to the countless others you’ve helped and touched. Godspeed Deb and Gene.

Chaz
