A Tribute and Farewell

In Loving Memory

Celebrating 23 years of RuneHQ history
and the community that made it special.

More than a website: a home for adventurers, a library of shared knowledge, and friendships that reached far beyond the game.

A Tribute To

Deb & Gene

The hearts behind RuneHQ

Deb and Gene helped shape RuneHQ into a place where adventurers could learn, share, and belong. We honor their vision, dedication, kindness, and generosity, and the community built around those values.

Deb & Gene

“More than a website, RuneHQ was a home—and at its heart were two extraordinary people.”

Without Deb and Gene here to help us carry RuneHQ forward, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the RuneHQ website at the end of 2026.

Oh the memories...
Thank you for all of the RuneScape guidance you provided me in my childhood.
I will remember it forever.

I remember my RuneHQ days very fondly. There were some great friendships made along the way, spending countless hours in IRC/ventrilo. While I may have drifted away over time, it's just like Runescape, you never quite, just take long breaks. Whenever I'd get the RS itch, I'd often check back in to RuneHQ to see how things were going. It may be the end of an era, but the memories will never fade.

This site was my childhood. I started playing RS in '04, and didnt have a clue what I was doing. This site helped me navigate that world when it was so new. Deb and Gene, you did the lord's work for 23 years, helping out noobs find their way across Gielinor. Thank you, for all the hard work and dedication.

As a kid I loved to quest and the only way I ever made it through most of them was with RuneHQ. RuneScape was my escape from a world full of stress and anxiety. Thank you for guiding me on my many adventures in Gielinor! Rest in peace!

What a sad sight to see. This place was an amazing resource for players around the world. You will be sorely missed.

I will miss this site tremendously; my dad and I would print off guides and share them with each other before the times of multiple monitors and plug-ins. My bookshelf had a large stack with notes written in, a great legacy for a fun point and click game. For anything RuneScape, I knew where to redirect people.

Thank you for getting me through Desert Treasure 1 and making me cool in middle school, it upset the guys at Castle Wars though. :) You both are gone but will always be the essence of the game to many people. Just like Guthix, it's time for RuneHq and their creators to rest.

I started playing RuneScape almost 20 years ago. RuneHQ has been an important tool in my life for a very long time. Thank you for all the help over the years, RIP!

RuneHQ was more than a website. It was a community, and that was always because of you.

Although the site is closing, the RuneHQ Discord and clan will continue, giving the community a place to stay connected and carry on the friendships built here.

It's not goodbye, just a new chapter.
