Start Point:
Ur-Tag's house in Dorgesh-Kaan.
To Start:
Speak to either Ur-Tag or Ambassador Alvijar.
Instructions:
  1. Make your way to the city of Dorgesh-Kaan. Once there, go up to the second floor and into Ur-Tag's house to the north. Speak with either Ur-Tag or Ambassador Alvijar to find them arguing. Respond with "What are you talking about?" to find out that a train route between Dorgesh-Kaan and Keldagrim is being built but that the construction process has been brought to a halt due to the discovering of some goblin bones and artifacts from the Dorgeshuun's Civil War. You will then tell them that you have passed The Dig Site exam and are willing to help with excavating these artifacts.

Note: The easiest way to reach Dorgesh-Kaan is via the Dorgesh-kaan sphere teleport.
    Urtag
  2. Ur-Tag will tell you to head over to where tracks are. Leave Ur-Tag's house and enter the doorway in the southwestern corner of the second floor.

  3. Once you have reached the tracks, head south until you spot a group of goblins. Talk to Tegdak, who will ask for your help with extracting and cleaning goblin fossils. He will then give you a Trowel and a Specimen brush. Look around the tunnel for an Artefact pile. Dig it up using the Trowel and then bring it to the specimen table for cleaning.

Repeat this process until you have obtained an Armour shard, a Hatchet head, a Helmet fragment, a Mace, a Shield fragment, and a Sword fragment. Give them to Tegdak, who will identify each one of them.

While looking at them, Zanik will recognize the design on the armor and weaponry as being similar to one the surface goblins use, proving to Tegdak that their ancestors kept many surface customs when they went underground. Tegdak will identify each of them and will then tell you to take the mace, covered in symbols, to the Goblin scribe who may know what they mean.
    Tegdak
  4. Head back to the city of Dorgesh-Kaan and talk to the Goblin scribe at the council chamber, west of Ur-Tag's house. He will be unable to decipher the symbols and will suggest that you speak with the goblin generals in the Goblin Village.

  5. Zanik does not want to walk the whole way and tells you to take a visit to Oldak. Go down a set of stairs to the first floor of the city and talk to Oldak into the laboratory in the northwestern corner. He will give you a Goblin Village sphere and a Dorgesh-kaan sphere.
    Oldak
  6. You will automatically break the Goblin Village sphere and travel to the Goblin Village. Enter the most northern house and talk to either General Bentnoze or General Wartface. A cut scene will occur in which you will learn the origins of the mace, more history of the Dorgeshuun, and that Zanik is the chosen commander. As Zanik is addressing the tribe, a couple of H.A.M. snipers will appear and kill some of the goblins.

  7. Go around the western side of the houses to dodge the arrows and then climb up the ladder in the south-west tower to reach the H.A.M. snipers. As soon as you are up, hide behind the crates. Kill the H.A.M. Archer and H.A.M. Mage, both level 30, using a Magic or Ranged attack method. Focus on one enemy at a time, attacking quickly then hiding behind the crates while they fire back at you.

As soon as you have killed the last sniper, Sigmund will appear and kidnap Zanik. The goblin generals will tell you to rescue her and allow you to keep the Ancient mace as it may help you in rescuing Zanik. To further aid you, they will send their best warriors, Sergeant Mossfists and Sergeant Slimetoes, who will meet you in Lumbridge Swamp.

Note: If you forgot to bring a Magic or Ranged attack method, then pick up the Bronze crossbow and 50 Bronze bolts to the left of the crates.
    H.A.M. Snipers
  8. Head to Lumbridge Swamp and talk to the two sergeants at the entrance to the Lumbridge Swamp Dungeon. Enter the dungeon and then climb down the ladder right behind you.

Note: The easiest way to reach the swamp is via the Lumbridge lodestone home teleport and heading south through the graveyard.
    Sergeants
  9. A short cut scene will occur in which a few H.A.M guards will go for reinforcements. Run to the first corner of the tunnel and tell both sergeants to stay there. Go through the door to the north and wait until the guards start fighting the sergeants. As soon as this happens, leave the small room and run to the next corner. Lure the remaining 2 guards towards the sergeants. Once all guards are attacking the sergeants, go to the end of the tunnel and down the ladder.

Note: If the guards catch you, you will be teleported out of the tunnel to the entrance of the Lumbridge Swamp Dungeon. To prevent getting caught, hide behind the crates and boxes when luring the guards.

  10. Once down the ladder, you will see Sigmund (level 70) attempting to have Zanik run over by the train. You will now need to fight him. Wield the Ancient mace and once he starts to use prayer, use the special attack - Favour of the War God ability to drain his protection prayers, then switch back to your normal weapon to deal damage. Once he is near death, he will teleport away.

Note: The special attack ability can be found under the constitution tab.
    Sigmund
  11. Untie Zanik and the train will come, just narrowly missing her. You will then see a cut scene of the grand opening of the Dorgesh-Kaan-Keldagrim train line.
