Patch bombs will harvest up to 75 base resources per patch. Wearing/using anything which gives bonuses will work allowing you to collect more than the base 75.
A number of patches cannot be cleared with the bomb including Spirit tree, Flower, Belladonna, Evil turnip, quest-related, Livid Farm, and Herblore Habitat patches.
