Gnome Cooking and Bartending were interesting and often ignored members-only facets of the Cooking skill, until the Gnome Restaurant mini-game was released and brought them back in the limelight.
It takes some time to prepare a dish or cocktail, but the cooking xp gained for it has now been improved (70-180 XP per item), and it can bring some variation into a cook's monotonous training. Gnome food also restore reasonable HP and a gnome reward token can save your life when you are desperately needing food away from any food source.
Before you can start cooking gnome food and prepare gnome cocktails, you will need to be trained by Aluft Gianne snr. (dishes) and Blurberry (cocktails) in the first part of the Gnome Restaurant mini-game.
Aluft's Restaurant
Aluft Gianne snr.'s waiters, in the restaurant northwest corner of the second floor of the Grand Tree, sell all varieties of Gnome food, these can't be used for the Gnome Restaurant mini-game, nor for your own cooking experience obviously. Aluft Gianne snr. himself is the person to speak to when you start training.
Hudo's grocery shop and cooking accessories
The place to buy your ingredients for gnome cooking is Hudo's grocery shop, a bit north of Gianne's Restaurant. Hudo's shop is frequently replenished, so you'll never fall short of supplies, which cost between 1 and 10 gp. He also sells tools, but you can get them for free from its cabinet (see below).
The only ingredients you can't buy from shop are King worms and Toad legs; one source is the swamp just west of the Grand Tree (another site for both is Taverly; Swamp toads are also found in Lumbridge Swamp). To get Toad legs, pick up Swamp toads and click on them to pull off the legs (the toad is released). Also if you have at least level 75 Thieving, you can thieve gnomes and get King worms and Swamp toads amongst other things.
If you speak to Aluft Snr. after training he will give you a speech about how hard it can be to get his special dough and that he would hate for you to run out, so he gives you 100 noted dough.
Hudo's room also has two Gnome cookers to cook your gnome food, a cocktail shaker on the table (useful mainly for the Gnome Restaurant mini-game) and a kitchen cabinet with free tools:
Secrets of the gnome cooking are revealed in Gianne's cook book, which you get from Aluft Gianne snr. at the start of your training or buy from Hudo afterwards. You can also find the book in the bookshelves of your player owned house.

Gnome cocktail making all happens in in the southeast corner of the second floor of the Grand Tree.
Blurberry bar
Blurberry' barmen, in the southeast corner of the second floor of the Grand Tree, sell all varieties of Cocktails, but these can't be used for the Gnome Restaurant mini-game, nor for your own cooking experience obviously. Blurberry himself is the other person to speak to when you start training.
Heckel Funch
The place to buy your ingredients from for gnome cocktails is Heckel Funch's Fine Groceries, east of the Blurberry Bar. Heckel Funch's shop is frequently replenished, so you'll never fall short of supplies, which cost between 2 and 10 gp.
Cocktail glasses can be picked for free on the ground in Heckel Funch's shop and near the range, south of the Blurberry bar. A Cocktail shaker respawn is to be found on Hudo's kitchen table.
Some cocktails requires warming up, for which you can use the range south of the bar.
Introduction
Secrets of gnome cocktails are revealed in the Cocktail Guide, which you get from Blurberry at the start of your training, buy from Heckel Funch afterwards, or gotten from a bookshelf in your player owned house.
There are 7 different possible gnome cocktails
- pg 03 - Blurberry Special
- pg 05 - Chocolate Saturday
- pg 07 - Drunk Dragon
- pg 09 - Fruit Blast
- pg 11 - Pineapple Punch
- pg 13 - Short Green Guy
- pg 15 - Wizard Blizzard
Notes:
- Until the cocktail is finished, each successive operation will end in a message indicating the next step(s).
- At each stage of the process, the shaker then the cocktail glass will have their name, options and/or colors changed to reflect the work done. You can examine them to get info on the next step.
Mixing
Get a cocktail shaker, the necessary ingredients, and click on the shaker (=Mix-cocktail).
Chose the cocktail you want to prepare. Those for which you have both the level and the necessary ingredients will be highlighted in green ; also, when you point to a cocktail, you can see from the window below the ingredients that you already have (highlighted in green) and those you still need to get.You won't be able to start making a cocktail unless you have the required level and ingredients.
The name of the shaker changes into 'Mixed (name of the chosen cocktail)', while a message tells you what's left to do:
Pouring
Get a cocktail glass and, in some cases, the extra ingredients. Click on the shaker (Mixed cocktail) to pour the cocktail in your glass. The glass changes into a 'Mixed (name of the chosen cocktail)' and you get your empty shaker back, while a message tells you what's left to do.
Proceed as required, adding ingredients and/or heating the glass (or vice versa).
Adding ingredients
If the next step is to add ingredients, your glass will have 'Add-ingredients' as its first option. Get the necessary ingredients and click on the glass to add them, which will not succeed if you don't have all the ingredients in your inventory.
Heating
If the next step is to warm up the cocktail, just use it on the nearby range.
