Intro:

Demons are one of the most common training monsters around. They come in a variety of levels and appearance. They are found in almost every region of RuneScape. Most player fight them for their excellent drops. However, it should be noted that no demon drops bones of any type whatsoever.

Suggested Equipment:

General Tips:

A silverlight is not a suggested weapon when fighting demons. It is not as good as a rune long against demons. All Demons are weak to Holy water (requires the Legends' Quest to obtain).

Warriors:

  • Full Rune (at the least)
  • Darklight (its special attack damages the demon's stats)
  • Dragon weapon or better
  • Amulet of glory (4) (Optional)
  • 1-2 Prayer potions (Optional)
  • Teleportation runes
  • 25 Lobster or better (Better food is highly recommended when facing Greater Demons and Black Demons.

Note: You can bring a halberd and simply stand in a safe spot to really save pn food.

Mages:

  • Zamorak or higher robes (such as Mystic)
  • Staff (any kind)
  • Runes for the spells you wish to cast (depending on the staff you bring)
  • Teleportation Runes
  • Food
  • God cape
  • Wizard Boots

Rangers:

  • Dragonhide set
  • Bow or Crossbow
  • Arrows, Bolts, OR Throwing Weapons
  • Ava's device (to retrieve your ammo)
  • Teleportation Runes
  • Food

Note: Holy water is a suggested Ranged weapon as it is stackable and as strong as a Dragon battleaxe in power. However, it is not reusable.

Imp:

Imp

The smallest and most insignificant demons around are Imps (level 2). Their drops are rather bad, including burnt bread, pots, and beads (used in the Imp Catcher quest). This type of demons has the annoying habit of teleporting away at random moments in and out of combat. Do nott worry, they never go far, so hunt these pests down.

Random areas of RuneScape

Lesser Demon:

Lesser Demon

Lesser demons are a little more worthwhile to kill. They are level 82, and give good drops including Chaos talismans, Dragon spears, Runes, Rune med helms, several weapons and armor pieces.

Locations:

  • Musa point Volcano/Crandor: The Volcano area has some stalagmites for rangers, mages and halberd users to hide behind. The Crandor section has no such areas.
  • Taverly Dungeon: At one point you will be at a fence that separates you from the Lesser Demons. This is an excellent place for mages, rangers and halberd users. Bring telegrab runes if you want the loot. Warriors can just follow the path to the south to access the demons.
  • Wilderness: In Forinthry Dungeon - the entrances can be found in level 17 and level 31 on the west side of the Wilderness volcano.
  • Wizards Tower (3rd Floor): This is a place for mages, rangers and halberd users only. This Lesser is trapped behind a fence, therefore you do not need to bring food. However, you must bring telegrab runes if you want the loot.

Greater Demon:

Greater Demons

Greater demons (level 92) give much better loot even than Lesser demon, including Level 3 Clue Scrolls. Greater Demons are also slightly weaker to magic than other creatures.

Locations:

  • Brimhaven Dungeon: The Greater demons are located upstairs past the Fire Giants. Continue past the main area and around a turn in the cavern and you will find a small stalagmite area that rangers, mages and halberd users can use. Several annoying Wild dogs also wander around near the demons
  • Wilderness: In Forinthry Dungeon - the entrances can be found in level 17 and level 31 on the west side of the Wilderness volcano.
  • Lava Maze (43-45 Wilderness): Go down the ladder and you will find a large cavern with lots of Greater demons and a few Black dragons.
  • Ogre Shaman Cave: You need to complete the Watch Tower quest to gain access to this area. Beware, there are some Blue dragons there, and DO NOT attack the Ogre shamans by any means.
  • Entrana: You cannot bring weapons or armor, but you can bring half-finished bows and arrows. There are a few Greater Demons in the dungeon on the northwestern part of the island

Black Demon:

Black Demons

Black demons (level 172) are the last of the regular Demons. These deadly creatures are well worth the effort however. Their drops include several Dragon items, Dragonstones, several Rune items and much more.

Locations:

  • Taverly Dungeon: Go past the Blue dragons to get to a large area full of Black Demons. A Dusty key is required to get there, There are 3 or 4 good range/mage/halberd spots in this dungeon in groups of stalagmites.
  • Edgeville Member Dungeon: Go past the giant Skeletons to get to a large cavern containing several Black Demons. On either side of this room are two excellent spots for rangers, mages and halberd users. Be careful this is in low-level Wilderness, so watch out of Revenants.
  • Brimhaven Dungeon: Found at the entrance to the Metal Dragon chambers.

Abyssal Demon:

Abyssal Demons

Abyssal demons (level 124) require 85 Slayer to kill. Be careful when fighting them, as they will teleport you around (always within 1 square of them), and they will teleport near you if you attempt to run away. These demons drop the coveted Abyssal whip along with several other good items. Their max. hit is 8, and they often hit 0.

Locations:

  • Slayer Tower In Canifis: They are located on the third floor.
  • Abyssal Rift: To access this area you the ALR code with the fairy rings. You will be teleported to a area that contains all creatures from the Abyss as well as Abyssal Demons in a non-multicombat area. Although you are in the abyss, you are neither skulled or drained of prayer when you enter.
