He fears that he may lose his job if General Hining has his way because he forgot to treat the wood of the catapult. Offer to help him with repairing the catapult and he will tell you to go see General Hining in the camp to the south.

Note: The easiest way to reach the Tyras Camp is by chartering a ship.

  2. Head south to the Tyras Camp and ask the General Hining, in the center of the camp, if the catapult is broken. He will tell you the the catapult is an important part of the camp's defenses. The general will then give you the permission to repair it but suggests that you find the Catapult Engineer somewhere in the forest. Lastly, General Hining will give you an Engineer's letter which you must deliver to the engineer.

    General Hining

  3. Leave the camp through the dense forest to the north and then head southeast. Crawl through some dense forest, pass the trip wires, head east and then go through another dense forest. Now, head north, past a leaf trap, loop around northwest then southwest to find a glade. Cross the stick trap and talk to Catapult engineer. Hand him the letter, offer to help him and he will give you some Catapult schematics. Read them and choose to make the Mahogany catapult parts. Speak with the engineer again and read the Engineer's letter. The letter will state that Rolad the dwarf has made some Metal catapult parts

Note: Refer to the Tirannwn Map for the location of all the traps and to help find your way through the forest.

  4. Head to the dwarven base, just south of the Ice Mountain, and talk to Rolad the dwarf. He will inform you that he already sent Thaki the delivery dwarf with the Metal catapult parts to Port Sarim, but that Thaki has not returned yet.

Note: The easiest way to reach the Ice Mountain is by using the Falador lodestone and walking east, or by using the Edgevile lodestone and running southwest from there.

    Rolad

  5. Make your way to Port Sarim and talk to Thaki the delivery dwarf in the pub, in the northeastern part of town. He will not believe that you are a sailor. Go outside and search the nearby drunken sailor to get a Sailor's hat. Put it on then talk to Thaki again to get the Metal catapult parts.

Note: The easiest way to reach Port Sarim is by using the Port Sarim lodestone or the Explorer's ring.

  6. Return to the catapult with all the parts and speak with the Tyras guard to start repairing it. To repair the catapult, you will have to fit the different pieces in the correct spot on both sides of the catapult, an orange and a purple side. To place the pieces, click on a part to make another interface appear. use the arrow keys on that interface to move the pieces and the circular arrows to rotate them clockwise or anticlockwise. The orange twisted arrow allows you to select the opposite side of the catapult, while the green sun icon resets the puzzle. If you selected the wrong piece, simply right-click it and select the option to remove it from the screen. Below, you can find the correct placement of the pieces for both sides.

Note: The easiest way to reach the Tyras Camp is by chartering a ship.

    Plans

  7. Talk to the Tyras guard and he will ask you to test the catapult. Adjust the direction and counterweight of the catapult to destroy the 3 rocks, marked with an X. Increasing the counterweight makes catapult fire farther. Below, you can find the correct adjustment for each of the 3 rocks, from left to right. You may try as many times as needed to succeed.

    Aiming

  8. Talk to the Tyras guard again to claim your reward.
