He can be pickpocketed for the Pendant of lucien. If you already have this in your possession you will be told that his pockets are empty. You receive 0 thieving xp for pickpocketing him. During While Guthix Sleeps you discover that he has a hideout in the Khazard battlefield. He is a follower of Lucien and is doing a lot of research for him.
