When you log into the game, a small button will pop up in the bottom right corner of the game screen (See below). It can be dragged to anywhere on the screen. Click on it and you will be taken to the mini-game's interface. The hide button returns you back to the game. Press the button with Yelps again to load the wheel's interface again.
Besides the pop-up, you may also check your available spins or open the wheel's interface by clicking on the Squeal of Fortune button, next to the friendlist button. Do note that this button is not available when you are in a Clan Citadel, meaning that you will have to leave the citadel world to open the interface.
Playing The Game:
The main feature of the interface consists of a wheel of fortune and Yelps, the host of the game. Members get 2 spins a day, while Free-to-Play players only get 1 spin a day. Additional spins can be obtained in various ways (See Below). At the bottom you will see all the 13 slots containing the prizes that you can win in that particular spin. The slots always contain one super rare item, two rare items, four uncommon items and six common items. For each spin the possible rewards will change. There is no way of manipulating the rewards. Even logging out and back in will have no effect on them. Press the big red button to the right to stop the wheel and to find out what you have won. When you spin the wheel, your daily free spins will be used first, followed by the spins you earned in the game. Once you have run out of earned spins, any purchased spins will be used.
Note: The Squeal of Fortune resets every midnight UTC. Unlike a real wheel of fortune, the chance of winning a certain item is not determined by the moment you press the button but purely on luck. Daily spins cannot be saved up over time and will disappear if not used that day.
When the wheel has stopped, your prize will pop up and you will be taken to the rewards interface. You will be given the option to claim the prize, discard the prize, or convert the prize to coins. Claiming the prize will either send it to your bank, inventory in case of XP lamps, or into your money pouch if you won coins. Converting the prize will destroy the item and place coins in your money pouch. If you have a full inventory, close the interface and free up your inventory. Then, open the Squeal of Fortune interface again to claim your prize.
Obtaining Spins:
In addition to the daily free spins, there are several way of obtaining more spins.
- Double Spin Ticket: One of the prizes on the wheel is a Double spin ticket, granting 2 extra spins when claimed.
- Monster Drops: When fighting monsters, there is a chance of receiving a Spin ticket as a drop, granting 1 extra spin when claimed. It cannot be obtained from monsters in minigames or from Dungeoneering.
- Skilling: When skilling, there is a chance of a Spin ticket appearing in your inventory. Only the skilling actions that allow you to acquire Shattered Heart strange rocks have a chance of yielding an extra spin.
- Weekly Distractions and Diversions: Each week, one will give you one guaranteed Spin ticket. Which Distractions and Diversions earns you an extra spin during the current week is shown in the Squeal of Fortune reward screen. Weekly, the following take turns in granting you an extra spin
- Circus: Finishing any performances(Magic, Ranged, Agility or Firemaking).
- Penguin Hide And Seek: Exchange points for coins or XP.
- Evil Tree: Chop an evil tree.
- Shooting Star: Mine a star and receive XP from doing so.
- Troll Invasion: Each month, your first attempt at Troll Invasion will yield you an extra spin.
- Quests: For each quest you complete, you will receive 2 extra spins. However, you do not receive any spins for the quests you have already completed.
- Daily Challenge: For each daily challenge you complete, you will receive an extra spin.
Purchasing Spins:
Extra spins can also be purchased for real world money. If you wish to buy spins, click on the "Buy Spins" button in the top right corner of the Squeal of Fortune interface. You will be taken to a secure page where you can choose your preferred payment method and the number of spins you would like to buy. Enter in your details to complete the purchase. You have 6 months to use up purchased spins before they expire and disappear.
