These white gloves are a reward from a random event. The Mysterious old man appears and immediately teleports you to a "mime stage", where you are told to mimic the actions of a mime. This continues for a minute or so before you are teleported back where you came from with Mime gloves, other mime paraphernalia, or a new emotion in tow.
