TzHaar City, east of the city's Entrance/Exit.
To Start:
Speak to TzHaar-Hur-Frok, TzHaar-Xil-Tog, or TzHaar-Mej-Malk.
Instructions:
  1. Speak to one of the TzHaar standing outside the collapsed tunnel in the northeastern area of the TzHaar City. They will tell you that a creature, called TokTz-Ket-Dill, has caused great damage to the city by digging tunnels underneath it. Offer to help repair the tunnels and kill the TokTz-Ket-Dill.

  2. Go south of the quest start point and speak to TzHaar-Ket-Grol. He will give you a Stone tablet. The tablet, however, is written in the TzHaar language and he will refuse to translate it for you. Keep talking to him, until he directs you to go to the TzHaar Library to find help with the translation.

    TzHaar-Ket-Grol

  3. Head north-west of the furnace in TzHaar City and enter the cave to find the TzHaar Library. Once there, talk to TzHaar-Mej-Lor, the Lord of TzHaar Library, for help. From your discussion, you will realize that the piles of ashes in the bookcases used to be the JalYt (human) books. You will also learn that the books came from the Varrock Library.

  4. Go to the Varrock Library, located on the ground floor of the Varrock Castle on the north side, and talk to Reldo. He will tell you that the TzHaar tourist guide is in one of the bookcases. Search the bookcase in the southwest corner, that is the middle of a set of three to obtain the guide, then read it.

  5. Return to TzHaar City and talk to TzHaar-Ket-Grol. He will quiz you about the translation of the tablet. Give him the answers: "A pickaxe," "Oak planks," and "Blocks of stone." He will then tell you to get your Oak planks treated and to also learn about mining through magma.

  6. Get 14 Oak planks and take them to TzHaar-Hur-Frock, located at the quest start point. Ask him to turn them into Treated oak planks. Next get your pickaxe, Hammer, and Chisel, and also make sure you have space in your inventory for about 20 items (or just make more trips to the bank later).

  7. Enter the cave east of TzHaar-Ket-Grol. Talk to TzHaar-Hur-Brekt and ask him to teach you about Magma mining. He will refuse at first, but keep talking to him and he will eventually make a deal to help you, as long as you help him get the four TzHaars that are mining in the cave to agree to participate in his play.

    TzHaar-Hur-Brekt

  8. First, you will need to help him sort out the plot. Ask TzHaar-Hur-Brekt about the current plot and then tell him to change it. Choose the option that says "The humans started it."

  9. Talk to one of the four TzHaar that are mining obsidian and tell them about the plot. Each of them will tell you that they do not like it. Ask TzHaar-Hur-Klag to help you make the plot better and choose the option, "TzHaar who gets assaulted in its home is TzHaar-Hur."

  10. Next, ask TzHaar-Mej-Kol to help with the plot and choose the option "One is a TzHaar-Mej who is aware of the situation." Finally, ask TzHaar-Xil-Mor to help and choose the option "The criminal could be a TzHaar-Xil."

  11. Inform TzHaar-Hur-Brekt of your progress and tell him that the ending still needs work. Choose the option "The criminal's plans are foiled." To get the others to agree, ask TzHaar-Xil-Mor for help and choose the option "The plans aren't always foiled." At last, you can report to TzHaar-Hur-Brekt that everyone agrees on the plot and the ending of the play.

  12. You now need to assign the roles of the play. TzHaar-Hur-Brekt will describe the roles, then:
    • Assign TzHaar-Hur-Klag the role of TzHaar-Hur, then modify the role to make him happy. When he suggests a change, choose the option "Eh, I guess so."
    • Assign TzHaar-Ket-Jok the role of JalYt-Jenny, then modify the role to make him happy. When he suggests a change, choose the option "No, we can't have that."
    • Assign TzHaar-Xil-Mor the role of TokTz-Ket-Ek-Mack.
    • Assign TzHaar-Mej-Kol the role of Ketkul-Schmul, then modify the role to make him happy.

  13. Tell TzHaar-Hur-Brekt that all roles have distributed and he will teach you how to safely mine through magma. Now mine the nearby Obsidian walls until you have about 20 Stone slabs. You can mine 2 Stone slabs from each Obsidian wall before it needs to respawn. Use your Chisel and Hammer on the Stone slabs to make them into Pillars.

  14. You should now prepare for working in the underground tunnels. (You will be able to go back to the bank whenever needed.) Be sure to bring a Rune pickaxe (for this part any kind of pickaxe may also be used), Pillars, Treated oak planks, and food for all three areas of the tunnels. You will need a mage attack method for the second area and both a mage and a range attack method for the third area. Attack the fire monsters with mage attacks and the lava monsters with range attacks. When you get to an area with a monster, it is best to defeat it first before making repairs.

  15. To enter the tunnels, go to TzHaar-Ket-Grol's location to the southeast of the city and go through the crack in the wall. You will need 4 Pillars and 6 Planks for the first area.

    Crack in Wall

  16. Start by pushing the rock blocking your path. Now use the maps below to see where and when to use Pillars and Treated oak planks on the various cave-ins. If you use the wrong item, rocks will fall and you will receive some damage. Make sure to place the Planks marked in red and the Pillars marked in blue on the map first, so that you do not trap yourself. If you do, just push the Pillar over, stand on the other side of the cave in, and replace the Pillar. If you have trouble repairing a cave in, make sure you are standing directly next to it. Remember, you can go back to the TzHaar city and the bank at any time. If you run out of supplies, just make more with the methods listed above. Once you have completed an area though, you will not have to fix it again.

    Supplies needed per area:

    • First area: 6 Treated oak planks, 4 Pillars.
    • Second area: 6 Treated oak planks, 6 Pillars.
    • Third area: 2 Treated oak planks, 7 Pillars.

    Underground Tunnel Minimaps

  17. Once the first area is repaired, mine through the exit. Have your mage and range attacks ready then go through. Defeat the monsters, repair the area, then repeat the process for the third area, banking if needed. You will eventually end up in a new TzHaar mining area.

  18. Talk to the TzHaar-Hur there and they will tell you that the TokTz-Ket-Dill is north of this cave. You can exit the mining area through the south to open a passage to the quest start point. This allows you the chance to go to the bank and prepare for the final battle with the level 100 Toktz-Ket-Dill.

  19. For the final fight, you will need a Rune pickaxe, melee armor, and optionally another weapon with a strong crush attack. Depending on your combat level, some food and potions may also be helpful. When you are ready, go back to the new mining area cave via the quest start point, then head through the north entrance to fight the Toktz-Ket-Dill. You MUST use the Rune pickaxe to crack through the tough outer shell, before you can use any other weapon. Keep attacking with the Rune pickaxe until you get the message that the outer shell has been broken. Then make sure you have a crush attack selected on the Rune pickaxe (or your other weapon) and continue attacking until you have won.

Note: Do not use prayers until you pierced through the outer shell or it will constantly hit you for 150+.

    TokTz-Ket-Dill

  20. After you defeat the TokTz-Ket-Dill, it will drop 1k Tokkul and Big bones. Grab your loot, exit the cave, and return to the start point of the quest. Report to one of the three TzHaar finish the quest.

Note: Head back to TzHaar-Hur-Brekt to view the play and to unlock the TokTz-Ket-Ek-Mack song.

    Congratulations! Quest Complete!
