To Start:
Talk to Olaf Hradson.
Instructions:
  1. Olaf Hradson, near the path leading to the Trollweiss hunting area northeast of Rellekka, will tell you that he got shipwrecked three times during an attempt to bring honor to his family. He will request you to take some carvings to his family and to tell them that they originate from a distant island. Unfortunately, the ones that he has in his possession are of no good. He will then ask you to get him a pile Windswept logs so that he can make some new carvings.

Note: If you didn't bring a Spade, there is one next to Olaf. The easiest way to reach Rellekka is via the Fairy Ring code DKS, via the Ring of slaying teleport option to the entrance of the Fremennik Slayer Dungeon, or via the Enchanted lyre teleport.

    Olaf Hradson

  2. Walk a bit south and then northeast up the mountain into the blizzard, past the fairy ring, until you reach the Windswept tree. Cut a log from it and hand it over to Olaf Hradson. He will make a Crude carving for his wife Ingrid Hradson and a Cruder carving for his son Volf Olafson.

    Windswept Tree

  3. Head back to Rellekka and give the Crude carving to Ingrid Hradson, in her house next to the well. She will give you a fresh loaf of Bread to give to Olaf Hradson.

Note: Do not eat the Bread, unless you have another piece of food with you. Olaf Hradson will only take the first piece of food in your inventory.

    Ingrid Hradson

  4. Now give the Cruder carving to Volf Olafson, just north of Rellekka's longhall. He will give you a Shark in return and tell you to take it to Olaf Hradson.

Note: Do not eat the Shark, unless you have another piece of food with you. Olaf Hradson will only take the first piece of food in your inventory.

    Volf Hradson

  5. Return to Olaf Hradson and ask for the map he promised. He will complain that he is hungry and cold. He will then give you some Damp planks to make a fire with. Use these along with the Tinderbox on the embers of the fire close by and they will light. Talk to him again and you will give him the first piece of food in your inventory. In return for your help, he will give you map to a treasure.

    Embers

  6. The 'X' that marks the spot on the map is the Windswept tree you got the Windswept logs from earlier. Dig a few steps south of the tree and you will fall through. Follow the path through the dungeon and go right at the first junction. Keep following the tunnel until you come to a picture wall.

    Spot and Picture Wall

  7. Search the picture wall and a puzzle will appear. The correct order in which you must pull the levers (see image below) is bottom (1), right (2), top (3), left (4), and then press confirm (5). Once you have solved the puzzle, go through the door and head north deeper into the dungeon. When you have reached a large cavern, pick up 6 Ropes and 2 Rotten barrels. Before you proceed to the next step, kill any of the Skeleton fremenniks to obtain a Key.

Note: If you fail to solve the puzzle, you will be end up just north of Olaf Hradson with any weapon or shield unequipped. The shape of the Key that you receive differs from player to player.

  8. Walk onto the slippery walkway in the northeastern part of the cavern and then use a Rotten barrel on the first gap to repair the walkway. Do the same with the second gap. Then try to open the door. You will see a diagram which will show you the Key you obtained earlier. Click the shape that corresponds with the shape of the loop of your Key.

Note: If you fail to cross the slippery walkway, you will be end up just north of Olaf Hradson with any weapon or shield unequipped. The shape of the Key that you receive differs from player to player.

    Walkway

  9. Go through the door and continue down the rest of the walkway until you reach a shipwreck. Try to open the chest in the center of the wreck and a Skeleton fremennik named Ulfric (level 49) will appear from the grave to the north of the chest.

    Ulfric

  10. Once you have defeated Ulfric, open the chest again.

    Congratulations! Quest complete!

Brine Sabre:

Brine Sabre

Upon completing of the quest the Brine rats (level 49) in the Brine rat cave (Olaf's Quest dungeon) will drop the Brine sabre. A Slayer level of 47 is required to kill these rats. The Brine sabre is a weak sword, but it has a special attack that only works underwater. The special attack, called Liquefy, doubles the chance of hitting and adds a quarter of the damage dealt to your Strength, Attack and Defence level. Using the Liquefy attack drains 75% of the special attack meter.
