Start Point:
Sinclair Mansion, north of Seers' Village.
To Start:
Talk to the guard at the gate to the Mansion.
Instructions:
  1. Talk to guard outside the Sinclair Mansion, north of Seers' Village. He'll tell you that Lord Sinclair has been murdered and they cannot find the culprit. Offer to help and he'll tell you to question the family and gather evidence.

    Step 1

  2. Head into the mansion and check out the scene of the murder in the eastern room. Pick up the Pungent Pot on the table and Criminal's dagger on the floor, then investigate the smashed window to find the Criminal's Thread.

    Step 2

  3. Next, go outside and investigate the Sturdy wooden gate on the east side of the mansion and the dog inside will bark at you suggesting that it knew the killer to allow them to enter through the window.

    Step 3

  4. Now, search the barrels in the bedrooms belonging to the Sinclair children who's pants match the color of the Criminal's thread (the color is random for everyone). Four are upstairs and two of them are downstairs. You'll find various silver items that will be used next.

    Step 4

  5. Head outside to the Gardener's shed on the west side of the mansion and investigate the sacks to collect several sheets of Flypaper (one for each suspect) and go to the mansion kitchen.

    Step 5

  6. In the kitchen, fill your pot with flour and use the flour on the Criminal's dagger, then use the flypaper on it to get an Unknown print. Now repeat the process on the Silver items you collected earlier to get fingerprints of the suspects and compare them with the print from the dagger. Use the two prints that match to identify the killer. However, when you talk to the guard, he'll require more evidence to convict them.

    Step 6

  7. Talk to the Gossip at the mansion gate and ask him who he thinks is responsible. He'll mention seeing a poison salesman from the village deliver a batch of poison to the family.

    Step 7

  8. Head to the pub in Seers' Village and talk to the Poison salesman and he'll tell you that everyone at the mansion bought some. Go back to the mansion and ask your suspected killer what they used the poison for and then check the item or area they mention:

    Step 8

    • Anna - Compost heap
    • Bob - Beehive in garden
    • Frank - Family Crest, east of the front door
    • David - Spider nest (2nd floor)
    • Carol - Kitchen drain, west of the front door
    • Elizabeth - The fountain
If you've identified the correct person, you'll find that no poison has been used when you investigate the item/area (if not, you'll have to question the other children as well and search their areas until you find the one that hasn't been poisoned).

  9. Talk to the guard and tell him you have enough evidence to prove who committed the the crime and he'll ask you about all the items and collect the evidence from you. He will say that the culprit will be in house arrest until the trial and that he thanks you for your help.

    Congratulations! Quest Complete!
