    King Arthur

  2. Talk to Sir Gawain and ask him how Merlin got trapped in the crystal, then ask him if he has any ideas to get into Keep Le Faye. Keep Le Faye is southwest of Catherby.

  3. Then talk to Sir Lancelot and ask him if he has any ideas to get into Keep Le Faye. Sir Lancelot is upstairs in the castle, in the north-east room. Make sure you talk to him and not one of the other knights, otherwise you won't be able to do the next step.

    King Arthur

  4. Head to the salesman Arhein, who's at Catherby Port. Ask him if the ship nearby is his and if he delivers goods to Keep La Faye. When you ask if he would give you a ride, he'll tell you that Sir Mordred doesn't allow strangers in his keep. This means you'll have to sneak on board the ship. Go behind the candle shop, west of the bank, and select "hide-in" on one of the crates. You will climb into the crate and be shipped to the Keep Le Faye.

    King Arthur

  5. Go up to the third floor and talk to Sir Mordred, he will attack you. When you're close to killing him, Morgan Le Faye will tell you to stop, and spare her sons life. Ask her how to untrap Merlin.

    King Arthur

  6. You need to kill a Giant Bat for Bat bones. You can do this on the outside of Keep Le Faye. You need the Bat bones later on for when you stand on the orange pentagon outside Camelot.

  7. Talk to the candle maker inside his shop and ask him if he can make you a black candle. He'll tell you that he will make you one if you bring him a bucket full of wax. Grab the Insect repellent in the house north of the bank in Catherby then and head west to the beehives. Use the Insect repellent on the beehive, right-click the hive and choose "Take from". There is no need for you to buy a bucket, there is a bucket spawn at the beehives.

  8. Head back to the candle maker with your full Bucket of wax and he will give you a Black candle, use your Tinderbox on the Candle to light it.

  9. Head to the Lady of the Lake at the nearby lake, south of Taverly, and tell her that you seek the Excalibur sword. She'll tell you she has to set a test for you and to wait for her at the Jewellery shop in Port Sarim.

    King Arthur

  10. Go to the Jewellery shop in Port Sarim, when you try to open the door a beggar will appear and ask for a loaf of bread to feed his family. When you give him the loaf of bread he will transform into the Lady of the Lake and she will give you the Excalibur sword.

Note: If you lose your Excalibur Sword, you can get it back by talking to the Lady of the Lake again and paying her 500gp for a "new haircut".

    King Arthur

  11. Go to the Chaos altar, south-east of the Rune shop in Varrock, right click on the altar and click "Check altar" to tell you the inscription, which is "Snarthon Candtrick Termanto".

    King Arthur

  12. Head back to Camelot castle with your Lit Black candle and Bat bones. Go outside of the castle but stay inside the gate and then go northeast, you will see a circle of pillars with an orange symbol on the floor. Stand on that symbol and drop your bat bones on it. The demon "Thrantax the Mighty" will appear you will and then have to chant the inscription you've seen on the altar in Varrock. Once you've chanted the correct words he'll tell you it's done and you can now smash the crystal Merlin by using the Excalibur sword.

    King Arthur

  13. Proceed to the top floor of the southeast end of the castle and use your excalibur sword with the crystal. It will shatter and free Merlin, who tells you to speak with King Arthur for your reward.
