My idea for this essay is to argue that giving free coffee to police officers is not a bribe.
I intend to use the dictionary definition of 'bribe' and show how giving coffee to police is not the same thing. For one thing, we aren't asking for anything illegal in exchange for the coffee, nor are we wanting special consideration in any of their actions. What we are trying to do by giving free coffee is to encourage police visitations to our coffee shop, specially at night.

Other than the dictionary definition, I haven't yet found any other sources to back up my argument. I have until Saturday evening to write up my rough draft with 3 references.

You don't necessarily have to find a source that can specifically talk about the bribing of police officers. I think finding a source that articulates having police officers around boosters their security, or at least the owner saying they have a sense of heightened security.

I think this is an interesting topic idea. Sorry I wasn't much of help.

nah thats cool. Honestly I haven't even begun to look at sources to use for this essay. I simply think it is an outrageously awesome idea, and I don't often feel that way about my essays. XD
