Not sure how long the recharge things last, but other info could include that the charge can be extended by using recharge gems (1 or 7 days) on it.

The charges last for 30 days upon receiving the item, you can check the charges with the 'Duration' option when right clicking the item. Not sure if the item then crumbles or becomes cosmetic. I guess we'll find out in a month.
