So i'm sitting here on my day off, slaying black dragons(Taverly) running down the list of music when Scape Original catches my eye. I play the song and fond memories of a Runescape from the past come to mind.

Does anybody else recall their first time playing the game, Runescape 2? Maybe you started on the tutorial island, or perhaps within the tutorial dungeon, or some of the newest players, right within Lumbridge. I have a classic account and I have played runescape 2 since roughly 2005. It is safe to say, i have not always been a consistent player, I, like many other scapers have a personal life and bills to pay, However, i do remember the days of staying up until 5 in the morning to get that extra level, the newest piece of gear, or even just to quest or hang out with my friends on-game. I just recently picked it back up again, and there is much to learn, many new updates i disagree with, but nonetheless i still enjoy the game.

Do you remember a time when Runescape 2 was young? Through the ages of Runescape what were some of your peak moments, best times, or even favorite updates?

And on one more note, how do you see the Evolution of combat Increasing, or decreasing your personal runescape performance?

Thank you for reading/sharing!

I personally go all the way back to when the classic version was quite young, but some of my fondest memories of RS2 were being up late and pk'ing with my friends. I would not pee for so long because I didn't want to log out and abandon my group, and the adrenaline of pk'ing would almost get me sick. Haven't pk'd in ages, but I think I might try f2p pk'ing again once EoC comes out.
(EoC sounds like it will also help my skilling out a bunch :) )

I remember when I started. I started in 2006 when my friend in 5th grade told me to try it out. I was amazed when I started playing it. Doing the skills were fun and talking with others made it a joy. To this day I still remember how I cut my first tree. Just going through tutorial island was a blast. After that I've been F2P until 2009 when I started being F2P/P2P.

I remember starting back in early 2006. A friend after class told me about the game back in high school. So I picked the game up and started playing it that night, and got addicted. I remember killing cows a lot to level up and getting killed in the cave south of of Port Sarim back in the early days.

PKing to me was a big thing back in the early days. But as soon as I got membership, there was so much other things to do that I have been doing those things instead of PKing. Maybe one of these days I might go back to it.

I started playing during my first year of college with some friends I made when I went there. We went to the computer lab after one of them suggested something new to play, we spent at least two hours doing Tutorial Island and going around Lumbridge/Draynor confused as hell XD.

Lets see, when I started RS2 I remember tutorial island. I knew that you had to follow the blinking arrow, but I wanted to explore the island. So I went around the island, saw what was on it, but it would not let me progress until I went step-by-step. So I ended up taking 3 days on tutorial island because I was collecting runes and resources because I thought you could keep them. I had a whole heap of resources so I said to myself "ok time to exit, I'll be an awesome player with all this stuff when I get off the island", but when I excited the island all my stuff was gone...and lets just say I wasn't happy. Lol. Then at Lumbridge, I could not figure out how to make a damn cake, so I just ended up exploring runescape. The first city I came across was Varrock. I was not used to how large this place was. You had hundreds of people in Varrock square, the general shop was bustling with players, lurers going crazy left and right, and people chopping down trees/ mining/ fishing right outside of varrock. One player told me to follow him to a "special circle" so I did. Turns out that this "special circle" was the dark mage's circle, so that was one of my first death. I wasn't too upset, after all I had nothing to my name. These were the glorious days before the grand exchange. There was nothing there were the grand exchange stood, just a path to the wilderness and an old shack right next to Edgeville. This was my RS2 experience from the early years, I can't recall much from my RSC experience, because I was only in 4th grade when I played RSC. In fact, I don't even remember my account info from back then (although, I probably have it written down somewhere and the password is probably fairly easy to do). At times, I miss RS2 from the glory years, before the days of: the grand exchange, solomon's store, squeal of fortune, a massive quest list; the list goes on and on.
