What if each skill had a set of set of sub-skills?
Example: Magic Enchanter, Battle mage, and Trickster.
This is not a fully developed idea. It is something that just came to mind, and I wanted to share.

With the EoC, each combat skill has abilities, so it's kind of like you're suggesting. What would yours entail, though?

It sounds like he wants each skill to have different parts which you have to level seperately. Sounds a bit like WoW to me.

Agreed, it sounds like specialization. For me one of the best parts about Runescape (unlike WoW) is that you can level every skill, and not have to focus on being a specific type of player. You can if you want, but you're not limited to it.

Perhaps on the WoWHQ Forums trhey havve an ideas center where somebody has just posted a suggestion that would make WoW like RS and somebody called xohP JD did a rageface,

Actually, now that I think about it, this sounds like what the DG rings do. Where you can specialize in a certain area/type of attack to cause more damage or get more material, etc. But yeah, as was said, EoC will address some of this so that ppl can actually customize the way they fight.

I know I like the idea of th EOC..but I am not sure I like this idea of a specialization like WoW.

I think this is getting too deep, nothing against you, but I don't like the idea; it just sounds like 10x to much work, and would be to big of an update for anybody to get used to. Runescape was already hesitant about doing the combat update just because a lot of people went against it.

I like the skill system the way it is. Changing it would make it worse in my opinion. That is what makes runescape what it truly is.

I guess it would probably cause a lot of people to quit, and then come back 2 months later.
