Clan Advertising

Clans! They have been a large part of RuneScape for a while now and we've been trying to think of ways to help out clans in any way we can. We now have a new way to help spread the word about your clan; whether it be a brand new start-up or a legendary clan that has been going for years, everyone can benefit from new recruits! That's exactly what we're going to help with.

On the main website of RuneHQ we have what we call the "Billboard." This Billboard is the rotating banner image area directly above the first news post. We want to offer clans the opportunity to add their own image to that billboard. Your image will stay up on the billboard for approximately 1-2 weeks. When it is removed, there is a one month waiting period (from the time your image is removed) before you can submit a new clan advertising request. At this point, you will once again be placed at the end of the queue as we only want 1-2 advertisements on the billboard at a time.

There are a few requirements that you'll have to meet first, though.

Requirements

1) Be an Established Member (or "higher").
2) Have an Advertising topic on the RuneHQ Forums.
3) The topic from requirement two must have been around for at least 14 days. If you are an Advanced Member, this requirement may be bypassed.
4) The topic from requirement two must be active.*
5) You must be a high ranking official from your clan.

* The term "active" is one which we aren't completely sure how to define yet, so we won't define it at this time, and until further notice we will use our own discretion. The point of requirement four is that we don't want someone to create the topic, ignore it for 14 days, then request a clan advertisement... ignore the topic for another month or two, and then request another clan advertisement. We will monitor how active clans are being on our forums and will update this topic in the future with how we want to define "active."

What we need from you

If you pass all those requirements and want some help advertising, we encourage you to participate in this new program! We will need a few things from you.

1) An image that is 676px width by 118px height. The image must be of reasonable filesize, must not be animated, must be appropriate for RuneHQ, and will end up being approved by a RuneHQ Staff member before being posted.
2) A link to your website / forums (if applicable). If you have this and there is content only members can see, we will need a temporary members account made for us.
3) A link to your RuneScape clan page (if applicable).
4) A link to your RuneHQ advertising topic.

What RuneHQ Staff will do

When we receive your request, we will first look to see if you fit all the requirements listed above. If you do, we will check your image and may re-save it to reduce filesize if necessary. We will never modify an image in any other way. If it needs modification, we will PM you and explain what needs to be changed.

Next up we will investigate your clan. Is it suitable for RuneHQ? Does it follow all RS rules? Is it in the right spirit of the game? If you own an off-site website or message board and you need to be registered to see content, we will need a user account created for us so we can see that content. We will only view this information to ensure no rule breaking content is being discussed. As soon as we have give you the all clear, you are free to delete that account.

Once we ensure everything checks out, you will be put into the queue. At this point, we will PM you with your queue position so you have confirmation that we did in fact receive your request and have processed it accordingly. If something does not check out, we will still PM you and explain what the problem was.

How do you get started

If everything sounds good and you happen to already meet all the requirements, simply head over to our Apply/Contact page (located on our forum navigation bar) and choose Clan Advertisement from the dropdown menu. Fill in all the proper forms and then it's just a waiting game!

Other Information

Please note that as this is a new feature we are trying out, there may be changes to everything and anything without notice. If we need to add requirements, we will add requirements. If we need to shorten the time an image stays on the billboard, so be it. Also because it is new, it may take us a little bit longer to get things running smoothly, so please have some extra patience in the beginning.
