Twit, Tweet, Twitter... RuneHQ goes Twitter. We couldn't turn a blind eye to our twitters. Our staff members will use twitter on top of the forum and the site to inform you about what is going on in the world of RuneHQ. A new event? New features? Exciting forum games? Prize winning contest? Updated guides? Or just something funny?

Our second batch of site improvements has finally arrived, just in time for summer vacation. The RuneHQ Site Coding team has been really hard at work, and after many long hours, late nights, and cups of coffee we are pleased to present the following new features.
We now have a centralized location for you to find all your favorite RuneScape videos. Not only will you be able to view famous music, gameplay, comedy, and event videos, but you will also be able to upload your own!
That's not all though. Video maker extraordinaire TehNoobShow has joined the RuneHQ Staff as the manager of our new database, and he will be in charge of selecting and adding videos for your enjoyment!
We hope you'll enjoy the extensive range of RuneScape videos available to you, and enjoy the ability to submit your own to us for entry into the database for all our users to see!
Have you ever wondered about the exact bonuses available for a weapon? Are you debating whether to get full Bandos versus full Dragon? Our new feature, Item Comparison, will allow you to select multiple items, up to eight, and compare each stat to find the weapon that is right for you - at a glance indications of the best weapon through highlighting will ensure you always get the best weapon for the job.
We have added the option to use a Javascript top Navigation menu on the main site.
This option replaces the left menu and some of the right menus, so the navigation will only be at the top.
The top menu option has been disabled for those who use IE 6 or IE 7 as there are some compatibility issues, but it works with IE 8, Firefox, Opera, and other modern web browsers.
If you have problems with any other browsers, please tell us on the forums, letting us know the browser and the version that you have problems with so we can look at it.
We recommend you clear your internet browser cache to make sure you are not loading old versions of pages!
For all of you that prefer the old style menus, you can switch back to it by choosing any skin prefixed "Left Menu" under the Site Skins drop down.
We are in the process of skinning the top navigation menu, so look for small tweaks in the next few days.
We have reworked how the news feeds on the site index are displayed. Look for the latest RuneScape news, RuneHQ news, RuneHQ Events, and JaGex and RuneHQ Twitter feeds all in one convenient location on the site index. Be sure to visit the topics these link to on our forums, and leave a comment or vote whether you like the particular update or not.
Our coding team is always coming out with new features, like these few, and we hope you'll enjoy these features as much as we enjoyed creating them. As always, any problems can be filed in the Tracker and any suggestions in the Suggestions Board.
Stay tuned for Part 3 of our Site Improvements in the next few weeks - we are all very excited about it, and we're sure you will be too. If all goes well, it just might revolutionize RuneScape fan sites.

Are you in a clan? Do you want your own private forum on RuneHQ so you can communicate with your members? Well you can have one! RuneHQ is going to give each and every clan that wants one, their own private forum that only you and your members will be able to see! This will allow clans who don't have their own website to simply use RuneHQ as their clans website! All you need is an account on our forums and you are good to go!
We will give any clan who wants one their own forum under the Clan Community board. Clan Leaders will be able to moderate their clans forum and only members of your clan will be able to see inside, so you can discuss your private clan matters without worrying about other clans knowing! What's more, not even our staff will be able to see inside your forum so you can be confident of complete privacy.
How to get your own forum!
In order to get a forum for your clan you need a minimum of 10 members in your clan and each of them need to have a registered account on our forums. Clan Leaders should send a Personal Message to one of the following staff members, in order to get a forum:

Have you ever wanted to try a new mini-game, but been unsure how to get started?
Wanted to try a new skill, but unsure where to go or who to talk to?
Ever just wanted to try out something completely new but want to have someone available to offer advice or support?
We are pleased to announce the return of our RS Mentorship program. This program is open to anyone who would like to learn about different areas of RuneScape but do not wish to learn it alone. If you wish to take part in this program we have several options available to you.
If you wish to have a Mentor assigned to you send a PM to Kittyhawk with a request for a Mentor.
Things to include in your PM: Kittyhawk with a request for a Mentor.

You are also welcome to hop in the RHQ Mentor CC (Kittyhawk816) at any time to ask questions. People in the CC ranked Lieutenant and above are there to answer questions to the best of their abilities. If no one is there please be patient and someone should be along to help you.

On a related note, applications to be a Mentor are open. You must be at least an Established Mentor and active on the forums to be considered for this position. If you are interested and fit the requirements please send a PM to Kittyhawk with the title RS Mentor applicant. There is a small testing procedure required to be accepted.
First we want to start off with the winners of the Forum Competition in May since we failed to get them into the Newsletter in time. These individuals had the most wins for the Hide and Seek with Events Team members on the forum. Congratulations to Eragon7985, El_Scuky, and Mathkid for being the first to find us.
The Events Team was very busy in June with several events and competitions. The forum competition winners were very close in votes. Check out the post to see what you think.
Many of our members took on the challenges of Bug Elimination. We held this event on both the F2P and the P2P worlds at the same time. Check out the discussion about this popular event here. The many pictures there show everyone's hard work. We would like to thank J-Mod Jon H for taking the time to join us.
RuneHQ members also worked on improving their Agility skills. This was very popular and we hope that everyone came out a bit more agile from their efforts. Check out the discussion here for pictures of our members and J-Mods who joined us for this exciting day.
We have taken on some new members to our Events Team to help develop some more exciting things for us to do as a community. Please visit our discussion here if you would like to suggest a new event or recommend that we plan one of your favorites. We always like to hear what our community wants.
Summer is officially here now and that means even more events for you to take part in. To start the summer off we have yet another forum-based competition that we just know you're going to love taking part in. You will have to do a bit of work to stand a chance of winning, so if you have a keen eye and enjoy a little detective work as we send you running to the four corners of RuneScape, then you are in for some fun.
Our first in-game event is something that has been requested so many times we just had to do it again. You asked for it and we're bringing it back, just for you. It's none other than the Wilderness Adventure. Be prepared for dangers of all types, including a bit of Revenant hunting as we go along. This will take place in both F2P and P2P worlds, so be prepared and don't let death knock on your door.
In our second in-game event of the month, we take it a lot easier and do a bit of rune running, again on both P2P and F2P worlds. Start stockpiling your rune essence. Whether you are a low or high-level player, there will be someone available to make you runes right across the board. Just get along to your favorite altar and start stacking up those runes.
We are currently starting the initial planning for RuneHQ's 6th Birthday Bash!!! Keep watch for more details. This year we will be doing even more activities and events to celebrate our RuneHQ family.

History behind your in game name?
There is really no history behind my name, I seen someone online with the name 'FleX' and I decided to come up with something of my own, unique so i decided to use pleX.
What brought you to RuneHQ?
I have been playing runescape since '03, and have always been using RuneHQ for all my quest related needs. I was not very active in the forums, but always checked them out, then i decided to register an account on the forums and get to know the community better.
Favorite skill in Runescape?
My favorite skill in runescape would have to be slayer. Slayer keeps be doing something new all the time, sometimes is is easy, and sometimes it is a challenge. Now that I have 99 slayer I have not been doing it that much, but seeing as it is the biggest money maker, you should be seeing me slaying more Steel Dragons soon.
Hobbies?
A lot of my hobbies are focused around computers. On a daily basis I do graphic design, work on my clans IPB forum, and website, play runescape. And then there is the life no one knows about, my real life. During the school I like to hang out with friends, play basketball and football, go to the beach, drive around, The regular stuff a 16 year old boy likes to do.
Favorite TV or Movies?
My favorite TV show/series is always changing because when I get into one, it either stops or it is summer time and new shows come on. Right now I like to watch Bones, and The Mentalist. My favorite movie is Transformers 1, and soon to be 2.
If you were a crayon what color would you be?
I think I would be green, my favorite color.
Favorite type of music?
I don't really have a favorite type of music, I like to listen to different types depending on which mood I am in. But I absolutely hate country.
Favorite type of food?
My favorite food has to be pizza.
What do you ear/gain from being a staff member?
I gain more knowledge every time I work on the databases which expands my knowledge of coding techniques and proper ways to do things. I also am glad to represent RuneHQ in runescape, and be known as someone that helps RuneHQ be what it is today.

I have been playing runescape for 6 years, since 2003.

With this new partnership with SwiftIRC, RuneHQ is going to greatly increase its presence in the Clans community, and we are dedicated to bring your clans the best service possible.
The RuneHQ Clans Category staff is going out and about in the wider Clans Community, to find out exactly what it is that makes clans tick. We are continually trying to find ways to improve, and the best way to do that is to find out what you guys want. Smartyarty25 - I used to be called a "smarty arty" because I would participate a lot in school and the 25 comes from the shortened version of 256 which I use for most of my names.

I used the guides for about a year before realizing the forum existed, then I went to the forums to see if I could get the quest guide before it was published and I got sucked into the community.
What made you wish to become a staff member?
I love helping and RuneHQ is one of the best communities ever. It has been there for me and helped me meet great new people that I will never stop talking to.

Brothers and Sisters and The Hills. For movies, Nightmare Before Christmas and Star Wars.
